I am trying to replace my horn in a 2009 suburban but I want to use the horn button on the steering wheel....unfortunately my OEM relay does not work so I need to know if anyone has ever installed a new/aftermarket relay and had it operate with the steering wheel horn button

So why not replace with an OE relay?  Are you replacing the horn and relay or just one?  Take note, the horns are not the same, one is high note, the other low note.  Forget which side is which.

The OE relay is built into the under hood fuse block and I am looking at over $100 to replace it from a junkyard....I bought a set of air horns from Amazon that come with everything to install it but i can't find the original horn wire from the steering wheel control

No...the horn relay is built into the under hood fuse block and in order to replace the relay you have to replace the whole underhood fuse block

I don't understand, do you have a part number for it?

I put Hella horns on my '10 silverado. I just used the horn wire in the front of the truck as the signal for the relay straight from the battery. Worked just fine.

Was your old horn working before you put in the new one?
