Has anyone installed a GMC CAI Performance part #84794977 in their 6.2L motor? GMC Accessories does not list a CAI for the 6.2, just the 5.3L. However, GMCpartsstore.com lists CAI part number 84794977 as a fit-able CAI for my VIN (a 6.2L)

Won't fit.  All the GM intakes for 2015-2020 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade are for 5.3 only.  The only thing from GM that will fit is the 84520923 drop in performance filter.

Online sellers don't get the information correct all the time unfortunately.  Seen it plenty of times.

What is confusing here is gmpartsstore.com lists that same CAI will fit a late model Escalade 6.2L

just get the AIR Raid JR pipe, and delete the airflow restrictor in the airbox, its the piece  that has foam attached to the inner fender. , this is all you need . use the OEM paper filter , it's the best.  no need to get a high flow CAI until you make 550-600 hp

Had an AIRAID on my Sierra 1500 5.3L and ended up going to the GM CAI. The Dyno on the stock air box with a K&N drop-in and the AIRAID Tube were excellent though

I just took a look myself there quick.  All of that information is wrong.  If you take a look at the screenshot of the Chevrolet Performance Catalog (also linked above) there is kits based on model years for any changes/certifications made.  GMpartsstore.com has the 2017-2018 intake fitting all years and both engines.  Which is false per the information straight from GM.

Doesn't fit.  The description of the part is correct "Performance Air Intake Upgrade, 5.3L - GM (84794977)," but the vehicle fitment data is not correct.  All those GM dealers with those online interfaces, the information isn't always correct, VIN or not.  This is more proof as such.

The first round of details I put up on my first reply comes straight from General Motors.  Source one being the GM parts catalog, source two is the Chevrolet Performance Parts Catalog.  Doesn't fit 6.2.

I bought the 2019 cold air induction’s for my new sierra Dinali 6.2 L here is my thought

I had the 2017 sierra Dinali 6.2 L in the cold air induction’s intake sounded amazing it sounded like a beast bought the 2019 GMC sierra Dinali 6.2 L about the cold air induction’s intake and it sounds like Stock I am so disappointed I expressed my frustrations to cold air induction’s and they could care less, don’t waste your money if you’re looking for something that sounds aggressive they completely missed the mark for the new generation.

I ordered the Cold Air Induction CAI and the GMC Borla Cat-back (Touring w/flapper valve) Exhaust. Tuning will follow, just don't know which tuner as of yet (Diablew, Blackbear, etc)

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
