Now that its actually dark and night time i went and messed with the dimmer. It works now. So it must me the whole automatic thing. I still find it odd i can't dim them during the day. Ive always been on the dimmer side not full on bright.

Side note- the back up camera is absolute trash! Like how tf am i supposed to see anything at night?!?! I definitely noticed that right away the quality of the camera picture even during the day seems way worse than any vehicle ive ever driven.

Side note 2- these head lights are brigt af holy crap.

The dash lights have been doing the full bright for quite some time now, at least on most every GM car since 2014.  You can even flick the headlight switch to the left to turn off all lights and the cluster will stay lit.  15 years ago they never lit the IPC unless you had the park or headlights on.  During the day there was no light.

As for the camera, they have two different ones in these trucks.  WT through LT Trail Boss come with the standard def camera.  On LT through LT Trail Boss and standard on LTZ and High Country, they can get the HD backup camera.  Big difference in the quality of the two cameras.  On your LT Trail Boss do you have the Convenience Package II?  If you do, you should also have the rear sliding window and the HD camera.  Also, LED reverse lights may help the view.

I do not have convenience 2.

I wonder what hassle it would be to get the HD camera cause legit cant see ******. For how much money i spent on this damn thing a backup camera should be functional. Imma bring it up monday

Tbh I have the hd camera on my truck and I’ve had a loaner with the standard definition camera and imho there isn’t too much of a difference that I noticed other then the objects in the hd camera look sharper but functionally they seem about the same to me.

Im actually pretty shocked by the low quality camera. My 2015 LT had the bigger touch screen and the camera on it was crisp af.

Honesty with this truck im nerves to even back up at night with it cause its so grainy. I know some people were posting about the contrast but idk if thatll even help. Like the picture quality for a 2020 $50k+ truck is very subpar

I would bring that up then. I have the hd camera but like I Said  I had a loaner for a few days with the regular camera it wasn’t grainy just wasn’t as sharp/crisp.

Definitely going to. Maybe i got a bad camera. But im extremely disappointed in it. Especially since i don't have tow mirrors anymore i definitely rely on the camera more than my old truck which had tow mirrors. Really only used camera to back up super close to things

Update- im driving using android auto. Decide to push the push to talk button and it works fine...

Like wtf. It paused my music and pulled up the Google prompt thing.

So if that works... why doesnt it work for just my phone am i going crazy or is this how it??

Did you verify that the phone and truck are 'paired' for bluetooth?

Probably will get a dic message each time the phone/truck reconnect (which is automatic, if they have been paired before)

The cable connection for AA operates without need for a bluetooth connection.

I'm thinking it doesn't need to be paired if running AA thru cable.

Regardless, it's easy to verify pairing fro either phone or truck side.

I never pair Bluetooth with a head unit that has CarPlay. It confuses things.

Regardless... i had the bluetooth only pair well before i ever used carplay and it didnt work.

Plus this is a $50k+ truck and its not smart enough to run bluetooth and carplay?‍♂️

It’s not about how good of a truck you have. It’s about multiple parties and standards all working together. My experience has been that even with updates from Apple, app makers, and the car manufacturer, if things start out sketchy they usually stay that way. The bulk of the heavy lifting in software is for the future, not updating the old.

Regardless, I think your issue, if there is one, can be resolved. Seems minor.

True. I definitely think its fixable. Id guess it could be fixed by a flash probably is my guess. Cant be too complicated. But we will find out
