Hesitant remote start now check engine light on!!

Just bought a used 2019 Silverado three weeks ago, tried starting it with remote start this morning and it tried but wasn’t successful, went to manually start it and it started but now the check engine light came on ugh what a bummer only three weeks out with it with 10k miles come on...has anyone else had this issue?

Yeah, remote start doesn’t work when the check engine light is on.

Awe ok, well guess I will have to take it in it’s so unfortunate we’ve only had it for 3 wks and has been fine we used it this weekend and it was great now this! Thank you!

You should get a code scanner

 

everybody with cars newer than 1995 should have a simple code scanner

 

you can google the code and atleast be more informed before taking it to the mechanic

 

for all you know it’s your gas cap and you’re wasting your time

 

if you really want to know more, get a bluetooth dongle for your obd port and download the torque app on your phone. Probably like $30 for everything. You have full access to all your sensor readings with that.

I really hope it’s a quick fix and not expensive one, good thing it still has warranty on the engine...

It’s one of those that doesn’t have a gas cap...
