Finally got around to selling my rough country nerf steps and installing the RBP Stealth Power Steps on my lifted 2019 RST/Z71 Crew Cab.  Really, the only semi tough part of the install is removing the B pillar trims to install the door sensors.  I chose this set instead of the AMP Research because it has two motors per side, doesn't tie up my OBD port, and comes with a 5 year warranty versus AMP 3 year.  Also, they were $100 cheaper.  So far, I love them!

I guess that depends on your definition of "exposed".

“Exposed” as in those sticky-mount magnets you need to attach to the door and door jam. I don’t like that. It’s just my personal opinion though. The warranty is nice and it looks like they tuck up a bit tighter than the amp steps. Mine (amp) have a larger gap on the passenger side versus the drivers side.

Where did you find best place to buy the RBP steps.  I had the retractable steps on my 18 king ranch and really liked the clean look of them.  I want to replace the ones on my AT4 as they are pretty much useless.  Mounted too high to get out.  On these are the AMP is there a way to have the steps open without opening the doors for cleaning going thru car wash?

I got them off americantrucks.com.  I don’t know about the AMP steps but on these all it would take is to interfere with one magnet on each side.  Either remove it or maybe placing another small magnet over the door magnets would work.  These do have a bypass switch that allows you to turn them off but they retract and stay there in the off position.

Amp sells a switch for this.
