Aren't they better than the 8 speeds?

NOOOOOOO
they arent
100k replacement interval
Just did one last week
They made it to 115k
8 speeds shift quality is questionable but at least they don’t require rebuilding

Fluid changes fix 90% of concerns

Torque converters are cheaper then entire transmissions

Where you live....lots of humidity?

Also torque converters are def cheaper then entire transmissions

6 speeds put you on the side of the road

I'd like to relate my Hertz car sales experience. I got a 2020 Silverado LT with 8k miles. The underbody looks pristine, smells like a brand new truck. Gave me very fair price on my RAM trade in that had issues passing inspection. I'm pretty sure the deals are hit and miss. I saw an identical truck(miles, model, yr) for $8k more than what I paid in the site today. Very happy with the whole process.

I’m a pretty aggressive driver. Mine or rentals I drive them the same. I imagine some would have trackers on them. Then the joke would be on the renter. An aggressive driving surcharge. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Whats the difference where  I live?  And your thought process is funny, you still pull the tranny its alot of work regardless if your replacing the entire tranny or just the converter.  Stop with the 6 speed leaves yo on the side of the road because its the other way around its more likely the 8, the 6 does great.

Moisture. Here in the south we the shaky shaky a lot, lots of humidity.

Interesting take you have on the 8 speeds, sounds like you’re replacing converters and units, you work at Indy shop or dealer? You must see higher mileage ones then I do
