Hello folks.  Just wanted to get some feedback on what you guys are setting the tire pressure at on your Chevy or GMC trucks with the factory 22” tire.  I just had the oil change done and GM tech told me they were way too high at almost 40 psi, which was set by the original selling dealership.  I’ve recently switched dealerships for service as I never liked the service manager there .(Long story).    The new tech mentioned that dealers many times set tire pressures very high so that they wear faster ?  Not sure  if there’s any truth to that statement but, I know 22” tires aren’t exactly low cost items.  The inside door jamb sticker on my truck says 35 psi.  Truck still feels pretty rough over bumps.  Is this just a normal trait of the 22” Denali wheel with Magnetic Ride ?    Any thoughts ?  Thanks gents...

I don't think 22"s belong on any truck.  Last thing you want with a rear leaf spring is a rubber band height tire.  That will make anything ride like a bucking bronco.   If you go higher psi you'll feel more of the road and possibly wear the middle of the tire.

Yeah.... I hear ya.  I loved the look of the wheels at first, but never realized the negatives that went along  with them.  Thanks for your reply.  I’d luv to throw some Fuel wheels along with a decent all terrain tire on there someday.

Simple solution, perform the chalk test.

Other solutions - Use the recommended tire pressure on your drivers side door sill.  Or,  contact your tire manufacturer for their recommended tire pressure.

if it says 35 psi, then set them for about 31 psi, after you drive for a few miles it warms up and is back up to 35 psi , if you run 35  you'll be pushing 40 psi during your trips, makes for a harsher ride

Well;  gave it a try this morning and definitely made an improvement.  Lowered them down to around 32 psi, immediately noticed a smoother ride.  Thank you sir...
