Installed the passenger side (Part# 84709962)  so far the mirror moves and power folds normally.  This one came off a 2020 Silverado, so it fit fine, the driver side that I have coming is off a Sierra

They sure are, both on HD and 1500.  On the 1500 you need LTZ or High Country with the DQS tow mirrors which forces on the CWM technology package that includes the 360 surround vision.   Sam

People have torn their trucks apart trying to add power fold only to find out the dash harness doesn't have the connector to swap their door harnesses

My truck already has power folding and blind spot mirrors, I'm just trying to swap to power folding tow mirrors.

Could you also get the build date for your truck too?  Should be on the door jamb sticker that has the VIN on it.

So I went out on the lot.  The HD mirrors have a different mount than the 1/2 ton tow mirrors due to the door design, so HD tow mirrors won't fit.  As a matter of fact, they don't share any sheet metal besides the roof panel really.

 

You would need the 1/2 ton tow mirrors DQS full feature to make all your existing functions work and to fit your doors.  You would need the following parts:

 

84753421 driver mirror

84753422 passenger mirror

84655846 passenger door harness

84655845 driver door harness

 

Nothing is on backorder, GM shows stock.  Those mirrors will include the cameras for the surround view, its almost a guarantee that they won't be able to function however.  All your other functions would be retained.

Okay thanks, that's exactly what I was wondering, sucks that the HD mirrors don't fit since they're so much more plentiful.

 

Yah I know for sure my truck doesn't have the correct modules to support 360, so I'm not expecting them to work.

I see that now on the build and price site.  Price jumped $7K!  Too funny.  Funny sad not funny haha.
Adding the mirrors automatically added the following packages:
Technology - LTZ Convenience - LTZ Convenience II - Safety - Safety II.  Removing any one of those removes the towing mirrors.
How stupid of GM!  
The tow mirrors on my LT Trail Boss were a $345 option.  No package add-ons necessary.  The tech/camera package is cool. Very cool.  But NOT even close to $7k cool!  I just want to be able to tow my 20' boat safely.  
I am on my 8th truck in the last 18 years so you can safely say I am a GM fanboy.  When looking for my most recent truck (see my signature) I had just three requirements.  Leather, tow mirrors, 6' 6" bed.  I got all three.  Would have been nice to be able to get cooled seats as the only leather available in the LT TB is black.  Cooled seats are not an option on an LT so I had the windows tinted.  It helps a lot.  Power folding mirrors would also have been nice.  Again, not an option on an LT.  I digress.  I am super happy with my truck!  
If Chevy offered a LTZ Trail Boss, I would've been all over it with the towing mirrors.

I wish they made a LTZ “Diesel off road package” like they have for the LT and RST

Hopefully for 2021. TBH all 4X4 3.0 should come with 3.73.

I knew it was going to feel different, didn't realize it would be so drastic. Really helps at the top of the rev range, and actually gives meaningful engine braking. 3.23 engine braking is honestly only better then going down in neutral. Very underwhelming.

Can you get the parts #'s for a Sierra also? Has the tech pkg, 360 view, power fold, task lights, 02/20 build.

Well I will have more info in a few weeks.  Found fully loaded driver and passenger side tow mirrors on ebay for $200 each.  Passenger side is from a Silverado and Driver side is from a Sierra, both are from 1500 trucks too.  After looking more into the HD wiring, their wiring has some BCM wiring that half ton truck do not have, this is specifically for the fully loaded mirrors.

Once I confirm both sides will mount and adjust I’ll start working on getting the lights to work.  I’ll probably just buy the factory harnesses to make it easy

Well bad news just as I figured, GMC mirrors do not fit properly.  I had my doubts, but figured I’d take the chance at $200, now I’ll just resell it later.  Yes they do bolt up, but the body lines don’t match.  I’ll be making some sort of gasket to fill in the spots where is doesn’t meet the body correctly.  This will of course be temporary while I hunt for another Silverado mirror for the driver side.

Installed, it’s not perfect, but i made it work.  Only function that I can tell that I lost is memory recall on the passenger mirror, driver side does function properly.  Next will be buying the correct door harness to see if all the lights work

How much trouble is it to pull the door panels? I got a set of tow mirrors & the the guy I bought them from is getting new door harnesses & is going to give me a deal on his. Should be able to swap mine in a couple weeks

      No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.

      Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.

      I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?

      Do you think this width might affect the chalk test with a higher pressure closer to 65psi? I think lowering the pressure makes sense to get the tread to lay flatter
