I've been piddling around the idea if putting a small CB radio in my truck just for poops & haha's; and nothing other than when we go on road trips with friends and we're in separate vehicles. It'd be better than the group texts we currently do while driving. We've talked about getting little handhelds but it looks like they still have a lot of manual squelch, gain, frequency adjustments, and don't have much for distance; none of us are professional radio operators or truck drivers that deal with that stuff daily. I did find a small CB radio that has automatic squelch controls and stuff all built in and still give normal distance. I wouldn't know where to mount it in my 2020 AT4. It'd be nice to have it hidden as much as possible because I don't want it sticking out like a sore thumb or have cords dangling everywhere. I like things to have that factory look, which is also why all the antenna ideas scare me a bit, drilling into stuff or have an big ole bracket hanging off somewhere that look ugly af. Then I saw this mounting option for an antenna that looks pretty close to factory (see picture) - same looking antenna mount style as the regular AM/FM antenna, just on the driver's side to keep that factory look. In all honesty I'd probably leave the antenna off most of the time and just put it on during those road trips.

Any ideas for a nice hidden mounting option for a CB radio in a 2020 AT4?

Any idea where to find this plastic piece for a driver's side antenna mount for a 2020 AT4, like the one pictured? (No idea the year, make, or model of the truck pictured)

I’ve checked out the Walcott website before. They don’t have much for newer model vehicles, and most of the stuff doesn’t look even close to factory. Appreciate the help though ?

I'm getting around to figure out my antenna install as well.  I see this thread walks you through the process or relocating the stock AM/FM antenna.  This might be an option, as you could then use the passenger side stock antenna location for your new antenna.

I started a thread on this a few months back:

So I did find the original article of where the antenna picture came from, the Ford forum, so obviously the antenna mount would be a little different on a GMC, but probably a similar process.

unfortunately once the dude in the link above made a nice, clean, hidden in plain sight antenna mount he went & stuck his radio in the most visible place in the cab. Would still want to have the radio somewhere hidden.

And this is/was the radio I was eyeballing

I checked with the local 2-way radio company here, but all they deal with is business band radios. The only places near here that sell CB's are truck stops, they wont do any install & just sales (and probably just a radio & antenna, nothing else; replacement parts basically), and they wont know what you need, you'd have to know all of that stuff ahead of time. Just doing a quick google search of the nearest CB radio stores, it looks like the closest one to me is 5 hours away, but that one is also in a truck stop, so it might be just like the other truck stop ones. The next closest one, which is an actual dedicated CB radio shop, is 7 hours away. Yikes! looks like my options are pretty slim. Know any way, other than google, to find actual professional CB radio installers?

I'm in eastern South Dakota. I think the state does all the lights, radio, etc for PD/Fire/EMS.
