What do you mean by too tight?

It should go right back into the same exact place if you measured the torsion bar key bolt length prior to taking it out.

Did you completely remove the key at the rearward end of the bar?

Let's start there some can troubleshoot the problem.

One torsion bar screw is ran in about 3/4 and the other is ran in about three turns and the truck is sitting level now. The keys in the back, one is level with the cross member that they hook into and the other is kinda angled down toward the ground a little bit when everything is loose and ready to take out. And if you move it to try to get level like the other one its pointed way up towards the truck. It won't even hold the truck up no matter how far you run the torsion bolt in.

You have to slide the torsion bar forward to remove the key and then slide the bar back to remove the control arm. Was the arm new or old?  I suspect if its new i could be made wrong if used it could be from a different model year.

Did you compare the two before replacing the control arm? Im not sure if its possible on these trucks but you might have installed the key clocked one slot away from where it should be.
