Door Ding prevention

First off, I am a debadging type of guy.  With that said, has anyone used some type of side protection to prevent door dings.

I've kind of promised the wife I would use my new truck as my work vehicle to insure the purchase. 

So far I have gotten two door dings from what I can guess in the work parking lot.

 

I found these, curious if anyone has used these and if they are close to invisible as they seem?

Looks like a nice set. Should help with dings. Paint match is the key and they claim 100% color match.

I have had very poor luck with door ding protectors over the years.  The chances of meeting up with a door that lines up with your trim is not as common as we'd expect.  I know it is not always possible, but I exercise "defensive parking."   If the people on either side of me won't be able to open their doors freely, I find another spot.  This seems like common sense but I am amazed by the number of truck owners who appear to pride themselves in squeezing into a small car parking stall. There are people (and I know one) who will not hesitate to open their car door until it rests securely on the vehicle next to them.

No door guards. People guards. Park away from the crowds. Sure, you'll get the car parked next to you when there was plenty of spaces around. IMO they parked out back for the same reason.

Besides the walk will do you good.

Just found a little ding on the truck today. I generally park defensively. It's a 2500, so I have the spare battery compartment. Thinking of installing a group 31, wired to the truck skin.
