The Duramax hood on the Silverado 1500 is the exact same as the other engine offerings, other than the "Duramax" emblem. The induction system for the 3.0 Duramax is the exact same.

Op can you give any insight into if while the hood is closed and you spray water at the grill and hood near the hood release latch that water would enter the air inlet hole any water droplets or puddles near the hole. The reason i ask is there is another post with 2 cases of people getting hydro lock from going through seemingly small puddles of water and having it go into their intake and blowing their engine which GM is denying their warranty saying it was their fault. Both stories are similar and involve only 3 to 4 inches of water

I think they were talking/asking about the active ram air system on the 6,6L dmax on the HD's since 2017.

Hello,

I thought about installing this intake but balked after reading about the GM cooling fins in front of the radiator. I have seen Stillen's videos on this product but it didn't sell me. So, before anyone else goes out and gets this intake, the question is whether or not it increases horsepower or if it does, does it at the expense of increased heat (temperature) in the engine. Thank you.
