I have the original on my K2. Love em! I did have some squeaking issues for a while but once I lubed em up they’ve been great again. I think the extremes are only necessary if you live where it gets icy and snowy and it builds up on the boards etc.

I have the regular ones as well. Only thing I don’t like is they didn’t offer a direct-wire option so they need to be bluffed into the OBD2 port. Great for someone who doesn’t want to take the time and wire it up, bad for someone who wants to run a range device. Not sure how a splitter would work with the range and the amp steps.

Other than that they fit as they should.

I have them on my 2017 sierra SLT Z71 with a 2 inch leveling kit . The rear end has a 10.5 inch clearance and i use it for off road and highway . It collects a lot of mud and they have gotten squeaky over the years and top part is starting to wear away the color on them (just the drivers door side) . I have the OBD port connector run to a dual splitter and a "Range" on the other end . Both work great and just rolled on 107K miles on my 2017 used daily both on and off road .

I have them on my 19 LTZ and LOVE them. The OBD becomes a non factor if you buy the splitter that amp sells. My original OBD tucks nicely behind the floor panel on the drivers side.

I travel in pretty severe winter conditions and bought the ones with two motors on each side. Never a problem all winter.

My truck now has 61,000 miles on it and I cant imagine life with out them :)

Forgive my ignorance, but if you already have power running boards you couldn’t tap into the wires from the OEM set? I have a Denali and always liked the look of the amp steps.

Check out the RBP Stealth Power Steps.  I installed them on my 2019 RST with a 7” lift.  I think they sit closer to the rocker rail than the AMPs.  I was asked to do a video of them here:  Apologies for the quality..my first video.  Also..I’m getting Katzkin’d on Wednesday and should have a video up soon after.

I don't think so, the amps are setup to communicate thru the CAN interface to know when the doors are open and closed. I am not sure how others are doing it.

The RBP ones use small strong magnets on the doors and door sills to trigger deployment.  The RBPs also have 2 motors per side and I think the warranty is better than AMPs.

My issue with the rbp is the decal on the side, and the install! U see wires in the doors from the magnets! Amp steps seem like a cleaner install! The extreme amp steps have 2 motors as well! Thinkin those

You really don’t see the logo at all on the RBPs and no one would even notice the wires for the few seconds the doors are open.  The install wasn’t bad at all.  So far I love them.  Tech support was super helpful as well.

How is the fitment with the amps? I have heard of people complaining on other model trucks that it is not a flush fit an don’t fit evenly across the bottom of the truck! These steps are not cheap, I don’t mind paying but it has to be a solid setup! Plus I’m a little picky! [emoji1787]
