No rear wheelhouse liners on 2021 Trailboss

Recommended Posts

Is the 2021 Trailboss suppose to be sold with front only wheelhouse liners? My dealership just told me "I don't know why Chevy only put the liners in the front". I feel like I should have the liners in the back as well. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Yes, Trailboss is a 1500 thing. But to answer the question as it applies to 1500's ...

(similar story on HD's)

There is more than one way to get them -- but they are not 'standard' on LT TrailBoss

B1J    Wheelhouse liners, rear

 - Standard on LTZ and HC

 - On LT, RST and LT Trailboss -- "Included and only available with (WPQ) Bed Protection Package."

Then:

WPQ         Bed Protection Package, includes (B1J) wheelhouse liners and (CGN) Chevytec spray-on bedliner
On LT -  Included with (PDZ) Z71 Off-Road and Protection Package.
On RST-  Included with (PDZ) Z71 Off-Road and Protection Package or (STH) Rally Edition.
On LT Trailboss -  Included with (WJP) Midnight Edition.

On Sierra

Standard on SLT, AT4 and Denali

B1J    Wheelhouse liners, rear
On SLE -  Included and only available with (PCQ) Convenience Package.
On Elevation -  Included and only available on (PCR) Elevation Convenience Package or (PCU) Elevation Convenience Package with bucket seats.

I didn't check for currently, but in the past rear wheel well liners have been available thru parts and accessories

Thank you so much Redwngr.  The parts department can sell the rear wheelhouse liners for $200.00 a set.  If it were you, would you buy them?  I do live in the North East where there is about five full months of dampness and rock salt on the road.  I'm annoyed that Chevy would risk annoying their customers by skimping on this.

Thanks again,

GT

I prefer them but they wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me personally.  You can buy a lot of spray cans of Bed Liner material or undercoating for $200 dollars...

The last time I bought a truck that didn't have them from the factory, I bought them from accessories.

I lived on a gravel road for many years, and was living there at the time. I think that was when the liners were still plastic without the carpet type surface.

Reduced both noise and chips from the gravel.

Lots of buyers are looking for an inexpensive tool. They don't want to be paying for things that don't directly serve the job at hand.  Some buyers just don't care at all, and of course there all also those that don't even notice the difference when they walk around one.

Guess I'm saying there is also a risk in adding extra stuff that some think isn't needed and causing reduced price competitiveness.

One persons 'skimp' is another's 'unnecessary cost'.  Fortunately we have choices in trim. options and accessories.
