I wouldn’t use a short AAL under the composite leaf.

A long AAL that goes under the top leaf, sure.

Thanks. What are thoughts on the Roadmaster Active Suspension to help with towing and get a slight increase in rear height? Would it’s effect working with the composite springs be more similar to a long AAL on top of the lead or short one under?

So is general consensus in regards to rear blocks with these leafs springs that they’re ok for typical driving and towing?

Never used it so can't say much.  Does it pull on the lower spring at all?  If so that's where any potential issues may be.

I think with regular use you'd be fine.  The blocks are no different size than your leaf spring perches anyway.

Thanks. I'm not real sure how the RAS works specifically... that's beyond my basic knowledge lol

I'm thinking of just going with the 2" rear block that is installed on the trail boss. Is the general feeling that adding that rear block is perfectly safe even with these composite springs? Daily driver, tows 6k lb trailer, zero rough off-road use.

My money's on it's fine.

Inspect it periodically and if the lower leaf looks funny you can always replace the pack with a regular, all steel pack.

The composite is thick and looks obviously different. Also I don’t think a magnet will stick to it.

I’d take a picture but my truck is 2 hours away from me.

Can anyone tell me if these are steel or composite? When I search the number on the sticker t pops up as  OEM F Spring?

Can you get a side view of the leaf pack so we can see the number of leaves and thickness of each?

Magnet stick to it?

I would avoid an add-a-leaf to the composite since they are tuned to flex at certain points (namely the ends) and an add a leaf would likely cause them to fracture.

Does anyone know the pin size, hole size and taper angle for the 2" block on our Silverado 1500's?  I ordered the GM ones the trail boss uses but they were backordered with no delivery in sight so I got impatient and canceled it. Need to order new blocks for the rear. Just want a good quality and not have to worry. I have the extended length Ubolts already.  Was thinking of ordering from the following site but saw similar things on others (in re: to pin size/taper angle).

3/4" - 5/8"-9/16"

0 - 2.3 degree taper?

Happy to order from anywhere as long as it's the right fit for our trucks - please send recs.  Also, I do NOT have the composite rear springs but the regular steel ones! yay lol

I ordered 2" blocks from Rough Country and they came properly tapered.  I have the composite springs and I have had zero issues with vibrations or pinion angle.

In the statement below from the GM Accessories site, it lists the trucks with the "composite rear leaf springs" as the LT trim 5.3 (L84) and the LT, Short Bed with the 3.0 (LM2). If this is accurate then it implies only those with the above listed configurations should have "composite rear leaf springs".

I suspect the other trucks are listed for reasons other than composite springs, i.e., already lifted.

"The 2-inch Suspension Lift cannot be installed on all regular cab trucks, 2019+ Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss, all Max Trailering Package trucks (NHT), all Snow Plow Prep-equipped trucks (VYU), or any 2019+ Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with composite rear leaf springs (Chevrolet LT Trim with 5.3L V8 engine (L84) - Chevrolet LT Trim, Short Bed with 3.0L Turbo Diesel engine (LM2)" (emphasis added)
Why are the composite leaf springs only on LT trim trucks, any thoughts?

Does anyone know if there is a specific RPO code for the composite springs?
