Hello everyone,

So when I bought my 2020 1500 RST crew cab 4wd duramax I had the dealer install the GM 2 inch lift. After about a month I had the same dealer install the ReadyLift Trail Boss 1.75” Level Kit which comes with upper control arms and some spacers...now at FULL TURN only Left or Right I’m getting this clunk noise coming from what it looks to be the half shaft(cv boot)??? Not sure...has anyone else had this issue? Im starting to think the dealer didnt install the NEW half shafts that came with the GM 2inch Lift kit maybe? And just ran the original ones?? Im not sure but ANY help would be appreciated...TIA!

Is the CV coming out of the diff?  We have a truck with just the GM 2 inch and the right front CV was coming out of the diff and just about destroyed the splines on the CV and the shaft in the diff.

Also, take a pic of the barcode on the CV and post it.  Its got an 8 digit GM part # that I can check.

Realistically, the 1.75" level should not have been installed on top of the 2 inch factory lift.  Its too much for these trucks.

Stacking levels and having issues, not surprised. Just go with one or the other as that is really putting a strain on some some of your suspension parts. You did it somewhat right by going with the kits that have new CV axles and control arms but there are limits and only so far you can adjust or move items from the factory points. Aren't there part number stickers on the CV axle you can check and run against what was/is onthe truck? Good luck getting it resolved.

they should be able to fix under warranty especially since they installed it.

Yes, I hope all and everything that needs to be replaced or tightened up should be covered under warranty. Fingers crossed because I heard stories of dealers going not wanting to cover lol...but this dealer seems good. Insert other media

Picked it u from the dealer...they found that the lower control arm was loose which was causing the issue...they tightened everything and performed an alignment free of cost and its riding amazing once again! Thanks for everyone's reply!

Here's some pics of my truck

on my trail boss I have a leveling block the dealer installed so my warranty would be safe. yesterday I had it at the shop for clunking noise. felt like something was loose in front end. had a bolt come loose. they tightened it and said I was good to go. still make the noise so took it back. my balljoint just fell right out after picking it up and lowering it on the lift a bunch of times. cv shaft also pulled out of diff. boot was tore at that point. found out the the ball joint on my passenger side was never greased when my truck was built. no way to check driver side because they are sealed. This is just a quick version of what I experienced.

From my understanding, if you want to level the front end of a trail boss or any Silverado that has the GM 2inch Lift you cant just put some blocks or spacers to raise it. I mean you can but what you had happen will eventually happen again...according to several lift manufacturers their is just too much strain going on to the control arms, ball joints, cv boots etc...

The "proper" way to level the front end of the Trail Boss or GM 2inch lift kit is by replacing the Upper Control Arms to one that is slightly more extended and curved to alleviate stress to the front end components...which is what I did. That's why I was so concerned about the "clunk" noise...I thought i did everything right but then it had me second guessing myself....turns out I did go the correct route and issue was with the tech that didn't properly secure my lower control arms after leveling my truck.
