I have the Cherry Red Tintcoat on my Malibu RS so I simply could not see having 2 vehicles the same color plus my dad has it on his 1500 . I like the color also but the Midnight Edition caught my eye when I seen the first one I really like the look of the all blacked out truck.

Here's something crazy - a contractor who's doing some work on our house was here this morning. He had his brand new truck he ordered in Feb - took 6 weeks - GMC Denali Duramax 2500 - 4 door short bed.

So the way it looks and is sounding more and more all the time is, they aren't building cheaper trucks, just the big dollar LTZ's and Denali's.

I am officially not buying the bullshit - the fake sss shortages  are all about money and money. I've seen this scenario too many time recently that I'm not buying it anymore.

Thanks for the photos! Much appreciated! It may seem like nothing but that sure makes me smile brother!!! Damn pretty shade of red!

btw, what's the bed cover? is that one of those roll up at the front? I have a 3 section fold up probably going bye bye when I trade. Seems it sits in the garage more than on the truck. Not sure what I'm going to do there yet.  Lot of good products out there these days.

Oh I feel ya! I toyed with black, and it does look awesome but same thing, my 2016 Impala is black with rainbow sparkles and love it! so I'm good on black like you're good on Cherry red! 👍

RetraxPro XR is the cover. It has the tslots so I can add my bike racks.

Still waiting on my truck.  Ordered last June, built second week of November and has been at 4300 at the Flint graveyard ever since.

Seriously thinking of saying good bye because how much waiting am I suppose to do?

I hate Dodge, really do not like Ford, but need HD truck soon.

Religiously check all the dealers within a couple hours drive for in stock trucks. This is how I found mine. Are Dodges and Fords in stock right now?

Well, I got a small bit of info from my dealer. Wife was at the Buick branch getting service. The sales Mgr is family. He asked what we've heard but said "We got notice that GM has stopped building dealer inventory units and switched to customer orders so should be hearing something anytime" ~ So we will see.

I came across this one thing though, a document on GM production for fleet orders. It said Reg cab/LB, quad cab/LB 2500/3500 starting orders April 22. Not sure if fleet has any relevance, but I was told my oddball reg cab/LB might be tough to get fit in as they like to run X amount at a time.

Also learned a shipment of Buicks he ordered in June are now on their way. Have a feeling there's going to be a new color in the drive shortly.

Any idea if the low-level trims get built faster than the luxury trucks?

Mine is low level. It’s a custom crew cab gasser.

    • There are probably a few threads talking about fuel mileage but this one seemed to fit the stats I have seen based on my typical local driven route but with different outcomes based on different seasons/temperatures. I have a few hundred pounds of items that consistently ride on the truck at all times such as a bak flip cover, rubber bed mat, tools and extra fuel so I would be something over 8100 lb without me in the truck. All these examples are based on a 100 mile round trip to a town plus running around town so maybe 110 to 120 miles in total for a trip. Using regular fuel and I assume it always has some ethanol in it but don't know the percentage they blend in. Also speed wise I am going at 62 mph and non aggressive driving although less speed yet if its crappy winter condition roads. I am going by an initial reset of the computer generated fuel use numbers averaged over a couple of thousand miles or so for each weather/season so they may be more optimistic then actual hand calculated numbers. Basically this is painting a picture of doing the same drive but seasonal conditions and temperature being the major variable to the end result. Oh and although I am in Alberta Canada, I am converting it to miles per US gallon so there is no confusion.    So winter time it gets cold here, no real surprise there and the roads can be clear at times but also often have packed rough snow or are are driving through loose snow ( they do a poor job of plowing the highways ) and yes this includes the extra idle engine time due to trying not to freeze ones butt off. 12.7 mpg is what I was getting during the winter months on average.    Then during the spring when it was around the freezing point and the highways are clear of snow, I was getting around 14.25 mpg.   Summer time, I have been getting around 15.15 on average but certainly some of the trips showed quite a bit better fuel mileage, so much depended on how much or little I had driven around town and number of engine restarts after sitting for a while at each location. But stating a best fuel mileage trip to town pretending that is what the truck gets on average is fooling ones self for sure !.      As I said in a different post, I had driven a 645 mile trip over a couple of days stint to a different destination then these other daily to town examples above, and was done during the summer with nice weather and not bucking a head wind, also keeping at 62 mph and its a rolling landscape type highway drive ( this isn't southern Alberta or Saskatchewan flat lands ) Hand calculated fuel mileage in this case though and it came out to 17.65
