I believe HPTuners has unlocked it and it’s ready to be programmed.

This is a nice surprise!!  Let’s hope they offer it in truck form

and yes HP tuners has unlocked it. Costs over $3k to tune. Looked into my 6.2L here in Midwest

Dont they replace the computer?  Or has that changed?  I know the TCM requires unlock.

No, you get a new programmed one and the one you sent in probably gets programmed and refurbished for next sale.
I want to tune my truck, but not interested in losing warranty right now. And the $3k+ to do it is a little steep!!  My K2 was very easy and the Hypertech hand held I had was very nice, and easy to install and uninstall.

Am I the only one who things 3k is crazy ? Especially on a basic NA motor ? You can tune a Turbo/blower motor for less.

To each his own I guess.

1/2 that is just to unlock/exchange the ECM.  It’s supply and demand, there’s only one company that’s figured out how to do it so they can charge a premium.

There will be others soon and prices will come down.

Yes I do think it’s crazy, hence why I haven’t done it, but like Descartian stated HPTuners is only one out there right now. Hopefully others crack it and we can see prices lower.  The days of handheld tunes are over though. Which is a shame because I really liked my Hypertech Max Energy.  It woke my 2018 up a lot.
