2018 GMC Sierra 1500 Recon Headlights

Recommended Posts

A Recon rep told me that for my style of stock headlights, the wires would have to be cut from my headlights and wired in to the Recon headlights as the connectors are not the same (for my stock style). As bad as I want Recon headlights, this sounds a little dicey. Anyone have experience doing this and can share a picture of the wiring?

To get away from OEM ?

What is wrong with the OE lights?

IMO, those Recons look like $hit and you end up having dual bulb lamps and then have to spend extra converting to HID or LED bulbs in them.

These would be more worth the $$$ especially being plug and play.  GMC Sierra (14-18): XB LED Headlights I MM (morimotohid.com)  Or you can Gen5diy and swap from factory HID to Denali LED.

Never ceases to amaze, the number of people who spend $50-60-70K+ on a new truck and then immediately spend $10-20K+ more just "to get rid of the OEM".

Maybe the OEM's would be smarter to put the cheapest Chinese-crap lights/tires/suspension/stereo/etc on the vehicles at the factory and then those owners would be waiting in line to buy $20K worth of factory-brand upgrades to put on them after purchase.

Some peeps (85%?) don't like having $.

Just gotta spend.

Truth be told saving is more addictitive than spending tho.  It's nice to be able to buy anything one wants with cash.

The OEM 16-18 housings are phenomenal straight from the factory, if you wanted to just change the appearance I'd suggest sending them off to a reputable shop and have them opened up and painted. Monty is active on FB and is a super cool guy, has done tons of retrofits. His website link is below. Going the Morimoto route myself come spring time, they have awesome reviews. Just be glad you don't have the craptory 14 or 15 headlights.. ?

How much for your oem headlights?

I just ordered the Morimoto's and was going to put my OEMs on Ebay after I remove. DM me if you're interested and we can talk!
