Mine has this issue as well.  It's annoying as hell. I always know when it has reset because the radio will be turned off when I get in the truck.  I thought it might be something related to Android Auto but I've eliminated that as it will do it even if I never have my phone connected.

I checked and there is an infotainment update from GM that was released on 3/30/21.  It covers IOS and IOT radios, not the IOR for the Customs though.  I'm wondering if it might actually work though.

Anyway, bulletin # is 21-NA-053: Radio Software Version V155 Update.  Only for 2021 model year according to the bulletin.

Might be worth having the dealer perform the update and see if it helps.

Hello my radio on start up the volume is all the way turned up. It hurts my ears. Has anyone found an answer yet. Also, the screen on startup is always on setting. There is no setting to change it to stay on music. Never had this problem with my 2019 infotainment system.  This is driving me crazy.

Is there anyone with the answers?

FACTORY RESET

Browse the radio menu's to Settings > System > Return to Factory Settings

2) Select Reset Vehicle Settings

3) Wait to reset

4) Select Erase Settings and Personal Data

You will need to reset your stations etc.

I did both options listed and

the radio has kept settings since doing this

Has there been any updates on the IOR system update for the 2021 custom trail boss??

Software update V155 is supposed to fix over 100 known infotainment issues. It is only available at the dealer and supposedly only works on 2021 models. By the way, GM wants to charge you $140 for this “fix”.  Even though it is under warranty.

I had the same problem. Do a factory reset and shut off the truck and pull the key, open the door and wait a few seconds. Then restart the truck and power up the Infotainment head unit, redo all settings.

This fixed the issue, hasn’t reset at all since I did it and it been about a week and a half.

Hope this helps 🤘🏼

You might check with your dealer again. I had the same problem. I took mine in for the first oil change and asked about it. The fix was released on the 13th of this month. Took about an hour for them to do it and there was no charge

I see. I was going to say when I left the dealer my truck radio was still in demo mode and everything I would turn the truck off it would erase any settings and revert back to am radio. Doesn't sound like the issue though. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck!

I Am having this issue. How do I get my radio out of demo mode?

I think you can turn it off in the settings. I don't recall exactly, try searching thru the menu settings and you should find it.

    • Because single shot injectors are ancient and multi hole injectors provide smoother running engines and sharper throttle response due to the fuel being atomized better..the best lead I have is a 24lb blue top injector almost everything matches up but the injector will put out about 26lb/hr which is just outside the gm threshold.figured id ask here to see if there was an absolute answer
    • Why is my question?   Any change in injectors requires a tune. Unless you are going back with the OEM part number or a newer part number of that same injector.   Any size difference or type difference like the EV6 style injectors all have different injector data for them. And there is no EV6 injector that matches the factory 25 lb/hr size that your truck comes with. I've been messing with these trucks and tuning them for a long time and what you trying to do doesn't exactly make sense to me.
    • My 6.6 gas lt8 had lifter noise with 28000 miles bought new 2026 and while driven to dealer it threw #1 rod bearing “HD my ass” good luck with yours i hope it don’t turn a rod bearing!
    • When a condition becomes a business model.    https://www.gm-trucks.com/gm-truck-suv-incentives-pricing-2026/   Zane posted this in "Latest Articles".    The honest bottom line   Truck buyers have spent three years assuming this is a temporary condition that will break once inventories normalize. GM just presented it to investors as a durable strategy, on a chart, as evidence of good management.   Inventory did normalize. GM is at 511,000 units and squarely inside its own 50 to 60 day target. The discounts still did not come back, because the low incentive number is the goal rather than a symptom of shortage.   Plan your purchase around that reality instead of waiting for it to change. Follow our ongoing GM News coverage for pricing and incentive changes as the next-generation trucks land.
    • Thought it was raining this morning when we woke. Nope. Dew point was over 80 F and humidity 98%. Zero visibility distance. Everything was 'sweating'. I've seen rain come out of clouds but never out of Pepper or the tree trunks.    Wicked storms just missed us sliding off to the east but by blocks. Heat index about 110 F with air temp in the 90's.    This is  our third wave this month of multiple days of this type of weather. And yet the grass is going dormant and the ground is cracking this side of the street and water up the the hood opposite. Just weird stuff going on.
