Sharpz Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 The truck is worth a grand if only for parts. It looks like the interior might have been swapped out. Those are odd rust spots and not sure how that happened. I just saw that you are from texas, make sure this one didnt go through the houston hurricane flood or you will have lots of problems if it wasnt done right after. Again, for parts alone I would buy this truck. The leather seats and interior only could cost you that.
PearlWhiteGT Posted July 28, 2021 Author Posted July 28, 2021 Thanks, the interior is original. Don't mind all those extra parts in the back seat area. They do not belong to this truck. My buddy purchased this truck from one of our co-workers. His dad has owned it since 2006 and I checked the carfax report and it has a clean record. Does show that the transmission and trans axle was replaced by the dealership in 2005 before it was sold to his dad. The rust is a big issue here in South Texas due to being near the coast. There are no dents or other issues that I could see on the exterior other than the rust spots and the faded paint on the hood and cab. I was able to make a deal with my buddy on the truck for less than the $1K. I'm trying to gather a list of parts that I need to order to get all the brakes in working order. While looking online for the parts to order I see that there are two options for the rear, single or dual piston calipers. Was it common for these trucks in 2001 to have dual piston calipers in the rear? Does anyone know of a company that sell preformed brake lines for this truck? My local auto parts store said they don't sell them. List of parts I plan on ordering. Let me know if I should add anything else to it. This is just to try and get the truck back on the road.
