Good afternoon all,

So I recently purchased a '17 GMC Sierra 1500 from a dealership not even a week ago with 65k miles and I'm already having an issue. I'm currently stranded at work cause my truck won't start. When I was trying to leave for lunch, I turned the ignition and it would just click a bunch of times. I was getting a battery saver activated, roll windows up, and stabilitrak message on the dash. Also the voltage is reading around 11v. I have all my lights turned to auto, door lights are off.. the only thing I can think of is that I had my phone charger plugged into the USB port. Any suggestions? Could it be the battery, alternator? The only thing I have done to the truck was install a CAI. I'm probably going to end up getting a jump from a coworker and taking it straight to the dealership.

TIA

Welcome to the site.

If your truck had been started and was at running temp when you bought it, going to say you battery is almost dead.

Old car lot trick, make sure they are running "as good as they will" before customer gets there to sign papers.

Just got a jump start at work, it cranked over slowly but started. Now check engine light is on and turn signals were giving indicator failure message. The code it was giving was P10E1. I’ll bring it to the dealership tomorrow to have them deal with it.

If the truck starts when you jump the battery then for sure you got a weak battery.

Also have you try to measure what voltage you get while running to make sure it was due to a bad/weak alternator?

Update: I put it on the charger this morning cause I was suppose go to the dealer to have them look at it since it’s still under warranty. I still can’t get it to start. I turn the key and hear multiple clicks. It was reading at 98% charged with 12V and when I cranked it over it just clicked and brought battery percentage down to 47%.

Battery isn't charged at 12V.

Bad Battery or not charged.
