Does that include the cost of the transmission? If so then I would say yes depending on the cost of the tranny. If it does not include tranny cost then god no

Yeah, prolly is; 4 years ago i had my 4L60E rebuilt and upgrades to a 4L65E (the tranny they put in the EXT and SS models) for my Avalanche. Considering inflation and such 3k is prolly about right; depending on where you live of course. I recommend you ask your friends who the best shop around is; you're likely to get at least 2 answers, go to those shops and get a estimate, they should be pretty much in the same ball park, then you'll know if the est. you have now is bogus or good, also be sure to get a warrant for at least a year/12k miles.

What EXACTLY are they replacing?  If the torque converter and clutches and pump and valve body are not included, it's a great deal for them but not you.
