Ticking noise on new truck

2022 2500 HD 6.6 Gas. From day one there is a ticking noise best heard from the front passenger wheel area. Dealer didn't think it was an issue but bugs the crap out of me. 

Pretty vague I realize but any thoughts?

The direct injection system can be known to make a ticking sound.

 

Kinda hard for us to really say without hearing the exact noise.

Can you add more about the tick... Is it a random, does it sound like it has rhythm to it? Is it loud like a hammer tapping on iron, or something else. DI engines tick like crazy!

Consistent when engine running.  Fairly fast rythm.  120 bpm ish. Loud enough to hear from anywhere outside the vehicle.  

 

Didn't hear it on last 2 trucks .  But they were the 6.0 not 6.6 gas.

I don't believe the 6.0 is GDI but the 6.6 is. Circle back to Cameron's post. It's high pressure fuel pump ticking. Even my lowly 4.3 does it. You get use to it.

Thank you for the response.  Appreciate the info, thought it was a service issue but seems not to be.

Mine has this same tick almost sounds like lifter failing to hold pressure. And creating push rod slack .Seems to be less annoying when its cooler out say 50 degrees and lower. My 2019 5.3 had a tic but not like this one does. I went as far as removing the passenger valve cover to check the valve train. After hearing about GM valve spring issues. 3,800 miles no issues. Chocked it up to the character of the 6.6 l8t DI engine. 

 

OP did or have you changed your oil yet. Mine got louder after my first oil change. But has calmed down a bit as the oil gets older.

Yea sounds like mine. passenger side is very audible. I dunno if the high pressure pump or its cam driven lifter is a different design. But sounds more like pump noise than the typical injector pulse sound. Who knows it "aint broke"   so i just live with it.

Mine is a 2022 Silverado 2500Hd and I get this slight ticking upon acceleration.  I've used the same fuel and everything since purchased.  Not sure what it is but bothers me thinking of lifters?
