Am I alone, or is there anyone else that doesn't see why New Years is made into the big production that ends up every year. Just another day in my eyes, except the calendar change...which is just a technical thing. I just see it as another excuse for people to  . I was listening to the radio out in the garage a bit ago while washing/waxing the truck and every commercial break they were giving out this number for free rides tonight. It just seems sad to me that we're that hooked on alcohol, that we can't have holidays that aren't anchored around it. But enough of my soapbox.

One positive this year though, at least I'm not working tonight...start midnights tomorrow.

I agree also....although I like to get my drink on as much as the next guy....but I don't really get the big deal??? I just know that I'll write 2003 on my checks for the next two months, and have to right new ones. I do like the football though, and the day off. Now Halloween...that's a holiday

I don't see the big deal either, but I know I like it as a musician because you are guaranteed a gig New Year's Eve if you want it. Although some venues aren't the best (like tonight's), but its money in the bank and a chance to play.

New Years? What is that? I too don't see what all the hipe is about. It is a day off for me, well at least this year is a 4 day weekend which is nice. Supose to be 70 here this weekend so looks like a wash and wax on the vehicles for the winter.

I don't get it either. I guess for some people it's an excuse to get plastered. When I was drinking...I didn't need an excuse. I AM enjoying the day off. I would have been working but my District Manager told all of us Managers to take the day off.

Tim and I enjoyed a great night together and plan on have a relaxing day at home.

Yeah...it will take about a month to get used to the year change...oh and I have to go get a calender. DARN...forgot.

new years eve is way overplayed IMO I can get drunk anyday of the week.

Last night from 5pm up until 5 am we had 3 MVAs here in town and 16 in my stations jurisdiction for the district out of those 19 accidents 17 were alcohol related, 8 resulted in injuries and one resulted in a death (a gruesome one at that) .

What a perfect time for snow to be falling

Happy belated new years everyone.

We (family and my gf) watched old movies last night. They are the 8mm type and they included my mom and dads wedding, xmas, bdays, and me growing up. Man were some of those embarrassing haha. We are having them put on VHS and then i am going to have em put on dvd.

Then at 12am we went to watch fireworks. Froze our butts off but it was fun

Well I'm glad I didn't get blasted for the comments. I'll agree with the 2003 thing. It was fun last week having to remember the January 2004 court date on the traffic pinches. I start back tonight...going to be fun going from 7-3 for the last 2 years back to 11-7. Last time I worked that, we rotated every month, now it's the whole year. At least my flashlights are ready, and if I want to wake people up, my updated phone plans has unlimited nights

Thats real sad. When will people ever learn not to drink and drive?

I get on my soapbox real quick on that one!
