I just got my 50w 6ohm resistors installed on my front turn signals on my 2008 Silverado but I have an strange issue.

When the headlights are on, I get no hyperflash and I can feel the resistors getting warm. But, with the headlights off, I get hyper flash. I get three normal blinks and then they go into hyper flash. Is it something as simple as connecting to a different ground? There are two grounds on each turn signal socket. The top socket has two blacks and the bottom socket has a black that comes from the top turn signal and then a black that goes to the High Beam socket.

I'll have to go back down and confirm which grounds I have connected to.

just because its a black wire doesn't mean its a ground. take a test light and turn on the lights and flashers and probe the sockets. with the lead from the test light on a good ground you will be able to determine which wire does what. the light won't light when you probe the ground. there should only be a single ground circuit

I have confirmed the blacks are the ground with both a test light and Chevrolet upfitter manual. Black is ground, brown is power and blue/white is turn signal.

I went back out and they are still hyper flashing. It's annoying.

There has to be somebody on here that has wired resistors on an early GMT900 Silverado that can confirm exactly which wires they tapped into. I have found plenty of information on wiring the Sierra but their wiring is different.
