Just brought home my first truck last night. 2022 Sierra 1500 SLT, Premium Plus and X31. I am new to this world….

 

I am about to begin its transformation to black out, CAI, Bed Cover, Black Exhaust tips, Hyperdip trim & wheels, etc, etc.

 

Easy question for you pros…as well, I want it to have a better stance. I am going to keep the 20” wheels and tires but want it lifted. Is the rear end 1” higher…therefore a 2” level in the front essentially equals a 2” kinda lift?

 

Then if I want to go to an overall 3” lift I would buy a 1” rear and 2” front?

I went with a 2" levelling kit for the front, so I think it's more like the rear is 2" higher.

Factory rake is 2" on 1500s.  A 2 inch leveling kit will get you level.  Anything over 2" will have the front higher than the rear, so taller blocks would be ideal to bring both up higher and level.  

 

2 inches is pretty much the absolute safest on stock upper control arms.  If you want to go over 2" in the front, get arms.

under the front shock lift kits are the easiest thing out there,  even simpler with 2wd, you dont even have to remove the wheels. do the world a favor and get the headlights re-aimed, stock HIDs are awful to other drivers at night, it sometimes gets my road-rage into the redline with some of these lifted punks. 

 

Stock CAI is good enough, why waste 300-450 on a useless upgrade

Just a 2” in the front is going to make it nose high. Did mine like that, didn’t look right, and wound up putting 1.5” blocks in the rear. Looks great but does have a little rake. 
 

If you want it to “look” completely level, I’d try to find 3/4” or 1” blocks for the back to go with the 2” donut in the front. You want the front 1-1.5” higher than the back. My 2 cents.

This is true. I have a 1.5" on my Denali and its level.

Except for that guys kit is 1.5" where as your motofab kit is 2". 

 

As I said earlier, that 2" motofab front kit with the donuts that go on top of the springs isn't going to look right without something in the rear. I never measured as I only did it for aesthetics but the body lines look nose high with just the 2". If I had to do it over again I would probably have gone with the 2.5" motofab kit with 1.5" rear blocks. That'd be perfect IMO. That said, if you are patient you can get 1" blocks off Amazon, but they are on backorder, hence why I went with the 1.5"s. At the end of the day a ball hair here and a ball hair there makes all the difference. 

 

Best of luck, going to look better than the stock stance as long as you put on some kind of rear blocks. 

 

For those that are lurking and future reference, you are better off going with a 4" lift if you are paying someone for the install. Better bang for your buck. If you are doing it yourself, 2.5" donuts (going to be a ****** to get in) and 1.5" blocks are the call IMO.

I did the 2" in front, then was a little nose high, then did 1" lift block in rear sits level now.

I’ve got 275/65/r20 which are a 34.1 inch tire, 11” wide on stock 20’s and they barely rubbed at full lock. Needed to zip tie the liners and now they don’t. 
 

295/55r22 are a 34.8” tire and 11.8” wide. You do the math. They are going to rub. But you should be able to get away with moving/heating the wheel well liners and not have to cut or do a body mount chop. I’ve seen plenty of people running 35’s on a stock suspension who claim they did nothing and they fit.

 

You should be fine but might have to break out the heat gun, modify the liners and/or mudflaps if you don’t want any rubbing. So worth it though as ~35” tires and a small lift on these trucks is the best thing you can aesthetically do to them. Too much lift = too much wheel well unless you put on 37’s which presents a whole host of other things you need to do to properly run them.
