Having a code p0499 and now PO 498 pop up. The code seems to in the past have indicated a clogged or dirty evap solenoid filter material, but can’t find any info on newer models.

changed evap solenoid gm part # 84148817.

Code is still showing after cleaning check engine light.

Any gm mechanic on here who can take a stab at it? Trucks out of warranty and the dealer can’t even look at it for a week..:

Not a GM expert, but check out  these two links:

I would try and activate the solenoid with 12v and listen to whether it is actually clicking. Then inspect the connector looking for dirt, corrosion, or maybe a pin backing out. Follow back the wiring as far as you can to see if anything is damaged.

Good luck,

AND please report back when you get it fixed, we really want to know!

Thanks, I’ve read everything I can find and all pointed to wiring or solenoid.

keep digging and found a video on rumble in which a 2019 sierra had a bad fuel pump power control module. The fuel pump module is what sends voltage to solenoid. Found one on eBay since it’s out of stock everywhere.

sort of throwing parts at this one..

when it arrives we will see

bought a new fuel pump control module. Truck running much smoother as well, it may have to do with the fuel tank being over or under pressurized with vent solenoid not working? Could be wrong but the truck is running noticeably smoother this morning.

part no:13540028

Having the exact same issue, have 3 codes, P0499, P0449, P0498 on my 2019 SIlverado, I am going to try this to see if it is the issue.

Will get back and let you know once I find the part as everywhere I look online it says out of stock or on back order

The fuel pump control module fixed my issue. Found it on Ebay. Called my dealer first and they said, "Oh that's a specialty item we can't get that" seriously??? The dealer on Ebay had it to me in 3 days.

I'm getting the P0449 which points to the EVAP Solenoid. The part checks fine and the dealer says it's in the wiring. They want $600 to troubleshoot the wiring. I'm thinking I may try to replace the fuel pump control module for $52. Very frustrating for a fairly new truck. Unfortunately beyond the 36k warranty.

I ended up replacing the fuel pump control module (13540028 is the new part and replaced 13526238). My 2019 High Country with the 6.2DI truck started idling rough and the check engine light came on. It has 113k miles. It set codes P0498 and P0499 as well as P0449. I replaced the evap control solenoid assembly and the purge valve but that didn’t fix everything. It got rid of the codes except P0498.

The replacement of the fuel pump control module resolved my issue and the truck is running better and no codes.

I got two modules, one from a dealer and one across eBay from China. The China unit is original and has a sharpie mark over the Made in Mexico wording. I’ll hang onto the other as a spare!

Would you be able to provide a photo?  Interested to see how the Made in Mexico was marked over, is it trying to say it was Made in China instead???
