My personal experience with the 6.2 and different octanes.  When I first took ownership(2020), I was not consistent with using a minimum of 91 octane.  Unknowingly at the time I was having a really rough idle and some intermittent engine/drivetrain shaking around 200 miles TOTAL on the truck.  My truck was at the dealership countless times to diagnose the issue and they basically had no solution for me.  I was angry and hated the truck, I even tried to get out of it and the dealership wouldn't take it back.  I forget why but I started filling my tank with 91/93 octane consistently every single time and have ever since.  All of my issues completely went away and I fell back in love.  I am sure the truck adjusted the timing for the lack of octane, but it was extremely noticeable in my case.  Hope this helps anyone on the fence!

Thanks for getting the specs right CamGTP. I have the 5.3L with the Chevy Performance Intake/Tune and with 89 Octane, there is a noticeable difference in performance. The tune makes the difference and I believe is also why the standard 5.3L gets the 87 octane nod rather than the 91 given that both engines sport almost identical compression ratios.

I mean. The fuel door even has a sticker telling you to fuel up with 91 octane... And the manual tells you to use 91 octane... So you have two indicators off the get go.   People have destroyed engines by being ignorant and using the wrong fuel, i remember the turbo'd 4 bangers from gm resulting in cracked pistons because people ran 87 octane when it required 91 octane.  It helps to know what you are buying and not to be ignorant.

Shaking at around 200 miles, sounds like the dealer didn't put in the 91 octane when you bought it.

I have a '21 6.2L LTZ with DFM and AS/S. I have never put anything other 87 in the gas tank and the DFM and AS/S don't bother me a bit.
