Put in Park - Truck gives message saying not in park

Anyone experience an issue where you put the truck into park, turn it off and then get a message saying to put the truck into park?  It doesn't do it 100% of the time.  And when it does it, the stereo stays on after exiting the vehicle and even after locking it.  I get messages saying remote not detected or something related.  Sometimes it corrects itself in a few seconds, other times I've restarted and shut it off and maybe it will stop.  Other times it does not do it.  Thanks for the input.

For those that find my thread and not the (what I think is) the original, here it is.  Taking my truck in this week.

Check the bolts in the fuse box. Mine weren’t tightened down. Was throwing out all kinds of messages. Worth a shot.

Did you ever figure it out? MIne has been doing it also and its very random. Sometimes after shutdown it will stay for 10 seconds, sometimes I have to move the truck and try again.

My 2019 1500 AT4 is at the dealership now. They tell me it's the shifter and will cost $1,064.15 to replace. The radio and lights stay on until the truck finally realizes it's in park. When you exit the truck it also gives me three quick honks two times. I've brought this up to the advisors other times, but it happened when I dropped it off today.

Did anyone have luck fixing this through a dealership? My ‘22 2500hd has been having the same issue. The dealership shrugged it off when it was under 36k miles. Now at 40k miles they said they could fix it, charged $900+ and it did it again as soon as I picked the truck up and turned it off at home.

We are having the same issues with our 2023 2500hd denali the dealership said the batteries were dead we replaced both and it's doing it again. But only sometimes could something have drained the batteries down again in a few weeks?

Cheap and easy fix if you can solder! Under $9.00 including tax. Replace the microswitch that is causing this with the part listed below. The youtube video shows the removal and replacement, but not the soldering part. 

Omron Micro Limit Switch SS-5GL13 with Curved Tip Lever 5A 125VAC #E66AA

2022 HD 2500 here,  just locate the micro switch under the column cover, snip the 2 wires and connect them together (solder if you're skilled or wire nut if you're not) thereafter be SURE to put it in park 'cause you won't ever get a reminder again. no collateral damage afterward on mine. cost $0.0

Something else to consider on these shift to park errors.  We've had 3 or 4 come in where the switch in the column shift assembly was ok and found the shift cable itself was stretched and causing the "shift to park" message.
