Shouldn't have that code in an '07 - there's no VVT.

True ... but VVT didn't come out on these until '09.

I have known GM to release expiramental  vehicles to the public before, not recently though. my friend had a 68 Pontiac that had an internal regulator alternator from the factory. they weren't standard equipment until 73, he had to have the dealer figure it out when it failed as no one had ever seen 1 before. also the local boneyard (now long gone) had a mid 60s Caddy Eldorado that had a drivers side air bag, it went off when they tried removing the steering wheel. it would be at least 30 years before that was standard issue

Interesting! These days that would be HIGHLY unlikely, as GM's main goal is revenue over ALL else. I couldn't see them investing the money in that until it was 100% ready these days.
