Replacing HPFP, need help finding TDC

Hi guys,

I’m replacing my HPFP on my 2015 5.3 and was told it has to be installed with the cam TDC. What’s the best way of doing this if I don’t have a camera to see the rod move or if I don’t have a pump alignment tool?

Pull the plug and stick  long tool in the cylinder and wait for it to start going down?

Scoll down to post #61.  I'm JonblarC7 on there too.  You'll see how I used a socket flip around on a extention to figure out the Top dead center of the lobe.  This how I measured for the lash cap after my cam install.

This video seemed quite informative on the job; I'd spent a few hours at work last month looking at parts, labor, etc. for the HPFP failure out of a pang of internet-induced hyperchondria.
