Hey everyone,

I have a 2015 silverado, 5.3 2wd with 100k on it.  Its starting to hum on decel below 40mph.  I'm thinking i need to change out the fluid and inspect the rear diff. and gear pattern.  I believe the gasket is reusable so we are good there.  What I can't find is what type of fluid to use, and is there also supposed to be a friction modifier?  Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

Use 75w-90, like Amsoil Severe Gear. Or any other full synthetic fluid. If you have the G80 code for your rear end, NO additional modifier is needed

Like txab stated 75w-90 is what you want.  The Easy Packs are sweet.  Yes the gasket is reusable.  You will need 3qts.  It will not take it all just to let you know.

If you are interested and what a quote delivered to your door let me know.
