I remember those days back home in Pa. Back then I had access to a friends garage with a lift so it wasn't to bad.

Down here in NC it gets cold but not for long and there come days that it is in the 50 or so to be able to handle an oil change without to much fuss.

At least you have a garage! My truck won't fit and one of my vettes is in there anyway. I'd be stupid enough to do it in the driveway, snow or not.

i only pulled it in halfway because the floor was wet (snow melted off the cars last night). Mine doesnt fit in with the garage door closed

You'll have that problem solved in the new house design specs I'm sure...of course you could always roadtrip this way and use my service bay...err...garage.

I've been putting off changing mine since my light came on 2 weeks ago. Single digits around here in MA too! Got to get a warmer day soon! The oil minder came on at about 2500 miles this time and I run M1 synthetic so I can wait it out!

Where you located Ryan?

you know whats funny is this is only the 2nd time the light came on and it came on just after 3K miles. It was like 3005 miles if i remember right. First time it ever came on it was about 2500 miles. I also run mobil 1 so i really wasnt to worried i knew i could go longer if needed. Only went about 200 miles past 3K

Are there grease points on these trucks?? I had no idea.

Running Mobil 1, you could easily go 5,000-7,000 miles with a good filter. I'm planning on going to Mobil 1 5W-30 on my first oil change around 3,000 miles.

Now everybody knows why I like to get that stuff out of the way no later than October!

Though I have a heated shop, I still don't like to do that crap in the middle of winter. Sure, I can pull in and stay toasty warm, but all the accumulated snow/ice on the truck then rains down on you. Yuck.

I only change my oil filter in winter, and that's an easy 2 minute operation in the insulated/unheated garage. Mobil 1 0W-30 winter, Mobil 1 10W-30 summer.

Easy solution to the snow/ice falling on you, pull the truck into the heated shop the night before you want to do it, should have a dry floor by the AM...

I know the feeling about doing the oil changes in the cold. Down here in florida the highs have been in the 60s to 70s. I dont know how you guys can handle that temp and having to scrape snow off your windsheild every morning.

titanium 10k,

No windshield scraping required in the morning because my truck is parked in the garage every night. Also have a remote car starter with a timer to start my truck at the end of my work day!!

Temp reading on the truck mirror this morning was -23*F (northern VT), but did warm up to +1*F later in the day!!

My truck will need on oil change within the next 1000 miles. I'm hoping that the temp is on the + side of 0 that day!
