No sir Bruce

me and Robbie both had to travel across several states to get that deal.

Total savings for me

Dealers around here adding 5k to msrp 92k would have been 97k.

I paid 83k, 14k savings for me well worth it for me.

No, not calling you a liar, I just DO find that hard to believe! That's a helleva deal, not sure how they're able to do that unless they had an over-stock and needed to move some trucks?? Yeah, the added price to sticker went away here about 1-1/2 yr's ago. I'm sure that dealer does far more volume than my local dealership, so they probably get a bigger margin between msrp & the bottom line. Congrat's on the deal, you did well!

We actually ordered ours as they couldn't keep them in stock took about 3.5 months to come in gave everyone on here a heads-up about the place and Robbie got one ordered also.

Colorado has been MSRP for a while.  But no way I'm doing that.  I ran numbers at 5 different dealers, and finally got the one closest to my house to sell it to me at "invoice", which amounts to about 5k off on my AT4X gasser.  Scheduled for production next week, I placed my refundable deposit just under a month ago.  Not the best deal in the world, but working local will gain me some tax savings.  I spoke to someone at Rivard, but they would not take a custom order.  They did offer to send me a list of all trucks in their pipeline to choose from.  Even after shipping it to Colorado, it still would have worked out a little better, but I am OK with the deal I got.

Generally speaking, I think by the end of the year, all of these HDs are back to the normal 8-12k off MSRP.  Unless it is RAM, which of course are already available at 12-15k off.

You're the second person that has said Rivard wouldn't work with you, do you remember the sales person? Last I check they were doing custom orders but the internet guy is a clown and doesn't want to work with people at all.

It was a manager.  I started with an internet chat, gave my email, and then a manger contacted me.  They did not say they would not work with me.  On the contrary, they were very friendly.  They only said they would not order me a custom unit.  I like the mechanicals things most people skip - dual alternators and batteries, block heater, high idle.  None of their ordered for stock units had those things.

Yeah same thing I originally ran into with the internet manager...  but dang 5k off is still way better than most deals for sure out here.

Thanks.  I am in a decent position of owning my 2020 1/2 ton and not "needing" the 2500 by a specific date.  We estimated the trade value a month ago and agreed.  No doubt it will go down as I await the new truck, but if they lowball at the time of the deal, I'll walk.  Optimistic that won't happen though 👍

The only reason I agreed to close to msrp(1k off) back in 22 was because the trade values were out of this world. The trade I had was a Kia minivan not exactly known for amazing resale and it was an easy 10k over what it should have been so in my opinion it didn’t matter if that money came off the msrp or the trade was artificially high. Would have been the same as about 11k off msrp.

trades really started to tank after that. I know because one of the places I shopped for trades in caravana and even to this day they email me monthly trade values for that van. It was a 2020 and it was at 36k in 22. We paid 35 lol. It’s now at 20k!! In the last email I received.

GM is moving quick now.  My order went in 2/8, immediately allocated, and delivered to dealer 4/2.  Less than 2 months, pretty amazing (AT4X 2500).

Found out today that mine has finished production and is on it's way to CA. I ordered on 1/17/24. It may have been finished before today.

I then called up my SnugTop dealer to order my shell. Lead time on it is 6 to 12 weeks...almost as much as the truck itself. Price of the shell went up 20% since I got a quote in January.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
