2018/2014 Headlight bulb swap?

Curious. Does a 2018 HID low/high beam bulb fit into the 2014 halogen socket on a Sierra 1500? Thanks

I highly doubt it a halogen and an HID bulb are two different animals. Halogens are usually direct wired to 12v. HID bulbs need an extra converter to work.

Ya you'd need a ballast that would connect to the 12v but would the bulb itself fit into the headlight?

No.  D5S has a totally different base and hold down.  

 

You want to use the factory HID, you'd have to swap to 16-18 headlights and get a Gen5diy adapter harness.  14-15 Sierra SLT to 2016-2018 1/2 Ton SLT LED Headlight Harness – Gen5DIY
