No remote start after engine swap???

Hey y’all,

Recently just swapped a 6.2 L86 into my 1500 that once had a 5.3 in it. I noticed when all was done, tuning etc, i would remote start it and the headlights would flash like it was going to then nothing would happen. I have no check engine light; and it’s been thoroughly tuned. any ideas???

was your 5.3 ecm used or did you use the ecm from the 6.2. the command for remote start , starts with rdlr to the bcm to the ecm. since the lights flash it seems that the rdlr to the bcm works but the bcm to the ecm is not working

used the 5.3 ecm, is it a tuning issue?

You need to use a scan tool that can read all codes. There could be a permanent code in the background that is not allowing the remote start to function.
