Do older trailer TPMS sensors connect to the trailering app on 2024 trucks?

Having trouble finding an accurate answer to this question. There are a lot of topics about the TRUCKS TPMS sensors being different, but I can't find anything confirming the trailer sensors. The ones I got with my 2020 half ton worked in the trailering app on the 2020 and also on a 2023 half ton. I have a set of leftover sensors from a 2021 truck but would like to know if they will work with a 2024 HD before I pay to have them installed on a new trailer.

I don’t know anything about trailer tire TPMS sensors per se but do learn my own truck sensors for my tires/wheels when I change over winter/summer with an Autel TS-508.

 

I would guess that the trailer sensors would need to match the truck sensors, whether they are 315MHz or 433MHz. The truck remote is also the same frequency as the truck sensors. 
 

I put my winter tire/wheels on yesterday. My truck uses 315MHz sensors. I did a test and tried to read them with a truck I picked on the Autel that uses 433MHz and it would not read them. Was not surprised.

If the trailer sensors you have worked on a 2023 1/2 ton then you should be good to go.

When I purchased my 2024, the sensors in the trailer paired up just fine with the trailer app.  When I put my aftermarket wheels on the truck that had the 2020 sensors, they did not.  I had to purchase new sensors for the truck wheels.

Were the sensors in your trailer from a previous year? or the ones that came with your 2024?

They were from a previous year.  They were connected to my 2020 3500 DMax.

I have trailer TPMS on two trailers. They have worked with my dad’s 21’, my previous 22’, and paired right up with my 24’.

My sensors from my 2021 paired up with my 2024 no problems

Trailer sensors are not the same as truck sensors.

Trailer sensors transmit temperature and pressure.

 

Truck sensors for the refresh trucks use the same frequency as prior to refresh, but they are not interchangable.

Truck sensors after refresh are 'auto learn' so the teach tool is not needed (except for duallies)
