madweazl Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Our remote start seems to work less frequently as time goes by. It works approx 65% of the time now and the condition is worse in cooler weather and/or sitting for a while (e.g. over night). Anyone else experiencing this?

newdude Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) I have a 2022 1500 refresh so same fob and platform as your 2024 HD. I've chalked it up to either interference with some other device somehow, or, the vehicle just decides to have a mini stroke and something just doesn't let it do it. I've noticed if I lock, unlock and then re-lock the truck that the remote start will decide to work. However, it happened to my 2019 old body and my 2016 Colorado so I guess I'm just used to it. At work its the worst. If I'm inside the building it won't work unless I go near a garage door or man door and then it will send the signal for any of the functions. The lights will flash showing that it receive some command but not start. I'll try the lock, unlock, and re-lock but I've done similar with no luck (not sure in that order or not lol).
Another JR Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Sounds like it’s receiving the signal but is not starting because some control logic is preventing it. You may have already reviewed your manual, but the 2021 manual says: The vehicle cannot be remote started if: . The RKE transmitter is inside the vehicle or if the key is in the ignition. . The hood is not closed. . There is an emission control system malfunction and the lamp is on. . The ignition is in any mode other than off. . The hazard warning flashers are on. . Two remote starts or a remote start with an extension have been used. . The vehicle is not in P (Park). Maybe the system sets codes your or the dealer can read?
madweazl Posted November 21, 2023 Author Posted November 21, 2023 Wouldn't start a couple days ago so I tried the lock, unlock, yada yada a few times and it did eventually start. In my case, trying to start with the doors unlocked (failed) and then locking and trying to start again worked.
UWSkier Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 What button sequence are you using for this? I've never had a remote start fail on my 2016 or my 2024 using the keyfob if I press Lock, Start, Start in about 2 seconds total.

The times it fails, the lights flash signaling it received a command but does nothing else. I've never not had it work on any other vehicle we've owned lol.
