I had the 3500 dually lbz. 320000 miles when I sold it. I always replaced everything that was needed with ac delco parts. Truck was in perfect condition when I sold it. Only reason it was sold was because it did not have enough payload for me. Probably had a lot to do with the flatbed I and a friend built. I buy and sell truck campers as a hobby. These new truck have a great payload compared to the older ones. I would still have it otherwise, but I sure do like this one. Here is a pic of the new owners driving off.

Beautiful rig! You are correct on new truck payloads. Crazy comparing my 2024 2500 gasser to the 01-07.5 hd lineup 🤣

Is this Scan Gauge 3 a good thing to have for our 2024 2500 HD gasser ?

Thank You

Only you can answer that. For me, I am glad I have it, as I like to monitor things, as well as what gear I am in. I went to the east coast and towed a trailer back to the west. My trailer lights would appear disconected at times, as the dic would read sometimes. After looking on the internet trying to figure out why, it was confirmed by the voltage gauge I had. I would have only been guessing without the gauge. When towing, alot of times you think you are in 10th gear, but you are not at times. I like knowing, but probably not necessary.

Gregg Thanks for your reply . What all does the Scan Gauge 3 Monitor ?

I have 3 pages on my monitor. All 3 have the core gages of oil psi, coolant temp, oil temp, volts, trans gear. From there each page has variables like Cat temps, mileage monitors. trans psi etc.  This is page 1. I have made several rolling changes the more I use it.

L to R starting at top row. Oil psi, oil temp, Coolant temp,  battery volts, engine rpm, Cat 1 temp, transgear, gallons/fuel, cat temp 220240318_150804.thumb.jpg.be5ec7d59c4b58a62cd80ab4764e88bb.jpg

I’ll follow up in that I have one too. I ran the “Torque” app on a cell phone in my 2018 when towing. I liked the idea of a wired connection between the OBD II and the monitor that the Scan Gauge provides. A bit more pricey than a separate Bluetooth OBD II and an app but worth it to me. I bought the truck to tow both our boat and travel trailer and like a digital readout of the engine operating systems.

I take it you buy a Scan Gauge 3 and it just plugs in under your dash where you would plug in Diagnostic device ? you will all know in time I'm not very Mechanically  inclined ,but I'm learning Thanks to you fellas !

Correct

If you remove the left side dash cover plate you can route the wire in that area and down to the OBDII plug. All you will need is a couple of zip ties to hold the excess length. It then just tucks into the joint where the A pillar cover and the dash join together. The window mount is easiest but I opted to move mine so that none of it blocks the view through the windshield, These trucks have enough blind spots without adding more. I had thought about moving it to the center above the display screen but decided I didnt want to tear the dash apart to route the wire. It sits on the dash now held in with some 2 sided 3M tape on the bottom.

One thing I wish the 2024s have that my 2016 had is "fuel consumed."  The ScanGauges of the past could also track this so presumably this new one can.  I'd rather know how many more gallons I have in my tank than a somewhat arbitrary E------F bar graph...

They do have gallons left as a percentage to empty. They have so many options as it pertains to mileage. I have one whole screen with that type of info and two screens for all the engine/trans numbers/temps etc

My bottom row on my main page shows the number of gallons of fuel the tank supposedly has. When I fill it (slowly without topping off after it shuts off) it will show 36.10 gallons. When I ran it down to the low fuel light it showed around 2.5 gallons but actually had around 4 in it.

UW Skier

I may not be understanding . but I think you can find that information on your truck dash ? How much fuel you have left in percentage  and how many miles left to empty . I can see that on My Chevrolet phone app
