Is it that same set of numbers that were posted here? Wonder what’s going on. Pretty sure I entered it all correctly

I don't know.  I can look at my settings tomorrow and see what they are if that helps.  All I'm saying is that in my ECU there is an address for it. If we are not using the same ECU platform, perhaps it has been deleted??? :dunno:

I just tried entering again and triple checked it all. Nope. Just displays 0. Maybe I have that super exclusive prototype CVT in my HD. And it’s displaying correctly ha

I am still fine tuning mine. I added a couple of warnings for the coolant temp and oil temp. I still havent driven it though, it snowed this AM and the roads are still sloppy and I just cant bring myself to drive it and get it dirty just for this. First world problems of retired people.

HA! You live in Michigan and don't want to drive your truck on a crappy day.

I've been at my hunting camp for the last 6 days. Rained for 2 days, snowed after that. My truck is trashed until I get home and prep it for trade in. My driveway at camp is mud after a little rain, worse after a lot of rain.  I'll treat my new truck the same as I only have one vehicle. :)

I have the luxury of another vehicle that is AWD. Its actually clean too but it will be out today since the sun is peaking through the clouds and the snow melted yesterday afternoon. I am retired so my schedule is whatever I make it.

I’m retired also but keeping a vehicle clean during winter is tough. I go through the car wash on a nice day.

My GF has a GMC Acadia Denali but I don’t think she’d be happy if I drove her vehicle where I take my truck!

Proof of concept.   Man this thing climbs through the gears quickly.

What did you use to pad the corners? Soft foam tape?

I see you use fuel volume. It’s different from fuel level in tank so I actually stopped using volume when I saw fuel level. Not sure what the volume even is for?

also what is the tcc one bottom right? Is that the other added one with gear? Wonder if It will work with mine

Yes

I interpret it to mean gallons left. What it reads right now seems pretty close to what should be in that tank

Not sure exactly but it sounded like something I could use for transmission info. I have since relegated it to the 2nd page and replaced it with intake air temp. Everything is a work in progress at this point.

I set a warning for oil psi below 25 and now the SG3 flashes red every time I shut the truck down. I may have to fine tune that one a little.

90% of the use of this truck will be towing our fifth wheel.

I used intake air temp for awhile but realized it’s always the same as ambient temp so used something else.
yeah it is a work in progress figuring out what you like for sure

It was especially helpful with my 2005 Duramax since the air intake and cooling system was a complete disaster. In hindsight I should have forced a buyback on it but between 2 jobs and taking care of my ailing Mother I didn't have the time to deal with it then.

I was able to make some low cost mods and then track my progress. This 2024 is light years ahead of that one as far as cooling and intake design. I love the truck but it was like a bad relative that cost me tons of money.

Ahhhh the old LLY. I loved my 05 but had the same experience with cooling problems. Never forgot the first time towing in the summer of 06 and seeing my trans temp at 220F immediately. I was only towing a 5k tandem car hauler 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♂️

First time I pulled my 6k travel trailer with it on flat ground, 63 MPH clear day no wind 80 degrees and the fan was howling to keep the coolant temp under control. Mileage tanked to under 8MPG. I knew I had a problem. 4" exhaust minus cat, intake air ducting, EGR blocker plate and turbo inlet elbow from an LBZ along with "water wetter" in the coolant was the only way to keep it tolerable. Of course it cost me both head gaskets at 105k. Epic failure

Loved my old duramax. Wish I never got rid of it. Upgraded radiators took care of the cooling issues. I had that sucker tuned, egr blocked, mbrp exhaust and had outstanding fuel mileage.

I had the 3500 dually lbz. 320000 miles when I sold it. I always replaced everything that was needed with ac delco parts. Truck was in perfect condition when I sold it. Only reason it was sold was because it did not have enough payload for me. Probably had a lot to do with the flatbed I and a friend built. I buy and sell truck campers as a hobby. These new truck have a great payload compared to the older ones. I would still have it otherwise, but I sure do like this one. Here is a pic of the new owners driving off.

    • So I'm in the middle of a DOD AFM delete on my 6.2 L86 Sierra. I had a pick holding the tensioner but after I got the Cam phaser gear off I was cleaning off all the rtv and apparently I didn't have the pick seated far enough in. I bumped it and the tensioner sprang forward.  I think everything is good but I want a second opinion. The top of the tensioner is just a looped piece of plastic that rides in that channel right? There is no spring or anything is there? I got the gear and chain back on and it seems tight and everything looks right. I'm hoping nothing fell out.
    • My 2015 1500 LTZ Silverado suddenly won't go into 4 x 4 low. It will go into 4 x 4 high.
    • Yep, just a quick reference point.    My main point being I’d do a thousand other things before I’d pay 10k for a transmission.    Speaking in ignorance cause I don’t look at these trucks, what is it worth? 20k?
    • I think users are going to want to pick their monitored parameters, which parameters they want to see first.    It should probably start with baseline at a minimum and adjust to learned, but be able to overlay baseline for comparison.   A simple severity level would be able to determine what type of alerting is appropriate or user selectable.    Why not use the OBD port though?   I think a phone connection would be a good idea, push notifications type deal.   Number 1 issue is having data is useless if you don’t know what the data should be under normal conditions.
    • I thought I would use your thread and add to it as I just did my first longer drive with my truck in the last couple of days. I drove from the Grande Prairie area of Alberta down to Edmonton and most of where I drove in the city was the ring road so fairly free flowing but a bit of stop and go as well in the city. Stayed the night and returned home and not too many stops along the way each way but every restart and certainly every cold start sets it back for fuel mileage. Why I say that is I see some people will cherry pick a fuel mileage leg after the vehicle had been warmed up driveline wise before hand and its a forgiving ( easy rolling drive leg for example ) and call that their fuel mileage which can give a false perception of reality. I was not heavily loaded at all but never the less the flip bak cover, rubber bed mat, various tools etc and extra jerry cans of fuel all way up to a few hundred pounds of dead weight so its not an empty truck. The cold inflation tire pressures are set more near the freezing point so once they are warmed up driving I was showing 45 front and over 40 rear and realize high inflation pressures would help a little in fuel mileage but certainly not the ride on our crap sections of highway. The weather was good so was not raining as that can really drag mileage down, in fact I had a bit of a tail wind on average driving home. Most people on here would never have driven on that freeway to visualize it but its got a fair bit of rolling type of landscape with numerous river valleys. For the most part I had it on cruise set to 62 although kicking it off if I caught it in time before it started down shifting and self braking going down the grades. Most of the more substantial grades its shifting into 7th I believe as 8th just doesn't have it. Total distance round trip was 643 miles and my overall average and I did refuel three times in all, figured out to 17.65 miles per US gallon. My best fuel mileage section refuel within all of this figured out to 18.46 and these are all hand calculated figures. I find if anything that the trucks computer can be over optimistic, sometimes its pretty close but other times its stretching it. On paper persay in theory the truck would have just about made it on fumes for that whole drive without refueling once.    Which made me think of the topic thread of the wonder if these trucks could do 20 mpg and that is a good question, certainly would have to be on an easy going flat highway, no head wind, the right temperature, not packing around a bunch of dead weight and puttering along even slower than I was I would suspect and going steady and not stopping to smell the flowers or take a piss !. It probably is possible but not without effort to attain that with the wind resistance and weight of these trucks. Of course on my drive most people are passing me if they have the power as per loaded highway tractors, never mind a lot of speedy vehicles but the speed limit is 68 and most are at or well over that.
