Good Day All.

Looking for info or tips from anyone who has swapped the 2019 LT4 6.2 with 2018 5.3 L83 motor.

Currently running with Magnuson Blower, Meth Injection, Texas Stage 3 Cam and some other goodies tuned to 652HP to the wheels and of course looking for more power.

Any tips would be appreciated.

The last time I checked and was awhile ago when I purchased my last new truck. There was only 45 Hp difference when adding a super charger between the two engines. I was going to do a build to replace my older blown truck with a new one for retirement. There’s tuning that comes into play. For instance a 5.3 on E-85 was within 25 Hp of the 6.2 when I was buying. It changed my direction when I was considering my truck. Ultimately my wife’s physical limitations made it hard for her to get into a truck it was traded for a SUV. I kept the old one. So it may not be worth the effort. I got my information at the time from looking up professional tuners. Ford offers a kit for their 5.0 trucks that gets over 700 HP with a warranty. So size may not matter.😳

Times are a lot different now. When the 5.3 makes 355hp and the 6.2 makes 420hp in stock form, it's already a huge difference there. Add a blower and we are talking probably over 100hp difference once a blower is added.

I think the OP needs to get his engine names figured out there. The 5.3 is a L83, the 6.2 is a L86 if we are talking trucks. The LT4 is a car engine that would require some changes to make it work in a truck configuration.

There isn't much tips to give if you swap engines when it's truck engine for truck engine. Put your camshaft in the 6,2 and bolt on all your other things, then it's just a matter of retuning the whole thing and praying your transmission can handle the extra 100+ ft lbs of torque and horsepower.

Agree that OP needs to learn the engine naming. The LT4 is a supercharged engine in the Corvette, Camaro, and Blackwing... 640HP+ depending on specific tuning. It shares some commonality with the LT1, but both 6.2L engines are available only in cars.

And with the vast amount of technology in today's vehicles, the days of the generic "LS1 swap" are gone. If the engine was never originally available in the vehicle, you are going to spend a TON of time and money to convert it, if you can even get it done correctly.

GOT the engine down for sure just a mistake on my part, yes I have an L83 direct injection will be doing the LT4 6.2 out of a Camaro.  ALL supporting mods have been done and current motor has a MAGNUSON 2650 with METH INJ and CIRCLE D converter.  Truck is built and will support the new power plant.  Thanks for the input.

Why would an LT4 from a Camaro, which was ONLY available in the ZL1 and came with a factory supercharger, have a Maggie on it now?

Good luck...

Because the factory ZL1 blower measures around 1.7L,  while a Maggie is 2.65L, or a Whipple now is 3.0L...in short, he wants MORE POWER!!!!

You got it and the motor is already built to handle power, the heads are all done and it has a real nice choppy cam in it for more boost @ 11.5 to 1 compression

GPAWILL is running strong with 725/650 to the wheels on 7lbs of boost, next mod is swapping out the 6L80E to a 4L80E.

Currently have a Circle D 3200 stall converter and the trans is at its max with only 23K miles on it.

Any update on if you were able to make it work? I’ve researched and it seems possible. I’m looking at a LT4 out of a 19’ model Camaro to swap into my 18’ high country.
