Hello,  2017 Silverado 2500HD, 6.0l, auto.   Sometimes the Volt Gauge reads 11v, then by itself goes back to normal 14v reading.  No other warnings on DIC or idiot lights when gauge reads 11v.  I would assume the DIC would show Low Charging if the alternator was bad.  Would like to fix before I get stuck somewhere on the road.  Thanks in advance,

I would clean all your grounds. A weak or corroded ground could cause this. Good videos on Youtube on this.

Does the 2500HD also have the voltage controller where there is a coil around the negative battery terminal wires to measure current draw and turn off the voltage regulator on the alternator to "conserve fuel" like the 1500's do? If so maybe that is fine. On the 1500's you can put tow haul mode on and after a few seconds it will throw the voltage back up to 14v or turn on your running lights to full power and it also should raise your voltage up to recharge the battery.

Pretty much all GM trucks after like 2005 have the "voltage controller" on them. Going down to 11 volts would likely trip the battery light, so my guess is that it's not really going that low.
