'22 Sierra 2500HD SLE extended cab.

When I ordered the truck, I decided, as it would be a daily driver as well as a tow vehicle, that I did not want the huge tow mirrors. I discovered through the GM site that a set of regular/smaller (1500 non-tow style) mirrors could be ordered and the site was explicit that the passenger side mirror was convex. When I sat down with the salesman to place the order, I confirmed with him that the mirror would be convex.

A few moths later, the truck arrived, at which time I discovered that the passenger mirror was flat glass and not convex. The salesman simply stated that GM has the right to change out components without notifying the buyer....??? As I was in a bit of a bind, I had to accept the truck as was. As a result, I opted to attach a blind spot mirror (on both sides). However, over the last two years, I have discovered the passenger side mirror, even with blind spot, is far less than optimal.

Recently, the blind spot mirror developed a crack/blemish, which got me looking at a replacement/alternative. I visited a GM parts dept and the parts guy advised me that, not only was GM no longer providing convex mirrors for any truck, some 1500 owners (originally with convex glass) who suffered passenger mirror damage, when purchasing a replacement, GM would only provide flat glass. He could not explain why this was so.

So, does anyone have further knowledge on this no-convex mirror issue? Perhaps a supply matter which will sort itself out in the (near) future? And, as I unsuccessfully searched, does anyone know if the regular HD mirrors are exact duplicates of the 1500's and if there is any after-market provider of convex glass regular mirrors for an HD?

For 2024 and 2025 model 2500 models, the small mirrors are specifically called out as 'flat, not convex', on the passenger side.

Trailering mirrors are still flat on top, convex on bottom.

2024 2500 shows:

I drive a 2023 2500HD that had the big tow mirrors and swapped out for the smaller 1500 looking mirror and it had the flat right glass…. I bought a replacement with the convex lens on eBay here:

I created a thread in here with pictures documenting it, if further interested.

Did not realize there were further posts since the last time I visited this forum, so thanks to those who continued to post.

Cody Quade, that is not the only thing they changed out without my knowledge/consent (long story). As far as searching, see the following as it may be a solution.

EdinOhio, hopefully you are still around as I just followed your Oct 24 included link and those mirrors are exactly what I have been looking for. However, just want to clarify a couple things -

My truck is a '22 GMC Sierra 2500HD and I checked the list of available mirrors and could not find a match although the same year Chev is listed. Are these two makes/models interchangeable regarding the mirrors? Did you only purchase and change out the glass and not full mirror? I presume that is an easy DIY? Is the blind spot portion moveable or is it stationary? Can you comment on quality, and is it glass and not plastic? And it looks like these are from China. Any delivery/delay issues?

Thanks,

Marv

Ya, I was hoping the same thing, but wanted to make sure before committing. The site has a long (like real long) list of make/model/year/trim compatibility and about the only combination I couldn't find was my truck. Weird.
