There was a TSB for the 2020's and some 21's about brake squeal at low speeds.  TSB called for updated pads to be installed, but only within a certain mile range.  If I recall, owners reported that this fixed the squeal, but only for a short period of time.

I'm wondering if the 23-24's are experiencing any brake noise issues.. or have the very, very latest pads solved the (annoying) problem?

The noise from my '21 didn't start until ~15k.  Too late for the TSB if I recall.  Before I spend the $$ for the latest/greatest, I want to make sure they actually fixed the issue... because it's awful.

The last "redesign" is working on my '22 drw.

Dealership replaced the pads late '23 around 9k miles. It has 12k on it now and not 1 squeal since. Truck does get warmed up the brakes on the highway and doesn't squeal in town. It lives on country roads, so it's mostly slow speed braking, pulling trailers.

That's a good indication.  I'd like to hear if anyone with 15-20k+ on a set of the "latest" is still squeak-free.

I had all 4 corners replaced under the TSB about 5-6 months ago. At the time the truck had 18,000 miles on it. They started squeaking again at about 21-22k miles. Didn't even last an entire oil change interval without squeaking. They seem to only squeak the first 3-5 times I touch the brakes though but this a daily occurrence. I park in a parking garage at work and they squeak like crazy when I leave every night.

Well that's not good news.  I need to check if Powerstop has released pads for these trucks yet.

I realize this thread is over a year old but I got the brake squeal issue on my 24 1500 Denali Ultimate at the 18,000 mile mark. Brake pad life was over 85% but the pad squeal is really loud at times, always at low speed. Dealership said the brake pad warranty would not cover it with my mileage so didn't even look at it.

I've had AutoZone Duralast gold ceramic pads on for a good stretch now and they are dead quiet and good performers.

Ditch the factory semi-metallics, new revision or not. Its the semi-metallic that is squealing. Its said ceramic doesn't have as much bite, but these trucks have massive brakes and I've noticed no difference even with heavy 37s.

I have a squeek early in the morning just going out the gate. My '20 has 80k and the DIC showed 38% front and 50% on the rear. I looked at GM performance gold rotors and ceramic upgraded pads. The rotors are slotted, but at close to $400 each, I am leaning towards the Powerstop tow and haul kit with ceramic pads and slotted and cross drilled rotors for front and rear at about $600, includes wear sensors and all hardware needed. Rockauto probably has the best price @ $500 or so. Powerstop is a quality product.  I will be sure to test it thoroughly.

I ended up putting power stop pads on all four corners.  Left the stock rotors. It's been silent ever since.

What does power stop say their pads friction material are constructed of ?. As to your rotors, did you get them turned or were they not worn unevenly and just did the pad swap ?.

I will eventually find out what condition these rotors end up looking like here due to the crap spread on the highways during the winter, it can cause a lot of very premature and major rotor damage to some vehicles on the front axle, never mind the rear axle that gets all the crap thrown at it from the front tires. The truck I had been using exclusively for years on the winter roads and has had multiple sets of various brands of rotors and yes so called coated rotors as well, they start chunking off rusted metal from the outer edge and it works its way inward to under where the pad was touching the rotor and starts ripping away at the pad material. Its hard to explain, its like the salt/calcium is getting into the metal and then rust jacking and it destroys the rotors which in turn ruins the pads and then its replace all the parts and half the time also means replacing the calipers themselves as the bleed screws twist off and the calipers get so rusted up regardless.

Carbon fiber/ceramic.

I just did a pad swap.  Still did the recommended pad break-in/burnish per Powerstop's directions.

That sounds like a hybrid mix of goodies most likely vs pure ceramic. After an experience years back with what was just referred to as ceramic pads I am leery of them because I had extremely poor/dangerous braking performance.

I am guessing being down in NC where your at you wouldn't have a constant slushy salt winter road mess, hows the frame and rear diff housing look for rust as an example ?
