So what did you do with the mirrors that you took off? Are they for sale?

I abandoned the project & kept the original tow mirrors on the truck.  Didn't want to live with the camera view being distorted.

I am about to give up on switching out my mirrors too. I am haveing problems trying to find answers about the options. I have a few connections with parts guys at some big dealerships and I can't even get answers out of them. I've been on a few GM parts direct web sights too. They list the mirrors but not much of a discription. It's almost as if it's a secret.

I have a guy that can do programming on my truck, he's the smartest mechanic that I know, and honest.  I haven't talked with him yet. I hate to bother him because he is so busy.

I have put after market mirrors on my last two Chevys, but there is always something on an after market part that doesn't quite work right. The memory didn't work om my 2009 silverado mirrors and everytime I shut off the truck they would reaim themselves at the ground. Then on my 2017 Colorado, I installed after market tow mirrors and lost the powerfold and the memory.

So I bought this truck used and didn't have a choice on the morrors. I really, really don't like the mirrors on my truck, for the reasons that I listed at the beginning. I just wish GM would at least talk to people that use these trucks before the engineering this stuff so stupid. Walk around at a truck stop and where are the convex mirrors on every truck in the parking lot. ON the bottom!! There is a reason for that. Why do you screw with the PS mirror and make it so you can't use it ti back up!

You know, I guess that I've had issues with pickup truck mirrors way back in the 80's

I bought a Ford F250 in 1988. I went to a local glass shop and had them break the PS mirror and install new glass mirror without the Objects appear closer, in the glass.

 Sorry everyone for my rant.

Well, I just got an answer from one of my parts guys. He told me that because I don't have the proper options in my BCM, switching mirrors is not an option. He said that if I swap out the mirrors myself, the truck might not start. I knew that there is programming involved, and I thought that I could have that covered, but it sounds like it can't be done. #$@%&##@
