I purchased my ‘11 Silverado last May, approximately 76k miles. I’ve noticed while driving, especially when slowing down to maybe turn and then reaccelerating I get a clunk feel. I thought maybe it was the “driveshaft clunk”, but after lubricating the yolk, changing transmission fluid and filter, and replacing U joints (since I had it off), it still happens. From a stop, the shift between gears seem fine, no clunks, really only during downshift and reaccelerating. Could it be a/the solenoid(s), and if so, which one(s)? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

My 2011 does this as well.  has done it since I owned it.  bought it with 40k on it - currently at 136k.  still doing it with no issues.  I assume it's the nature of the beast.

slowdown, turn corner, accelerate and "SLAM" or "CLUNK" - not always - but it happens.   I think it's the computer not knowing what gear to put the tranny in at the specific RPM

Mine does that, only when I'm turning a specific street corner.  Its done it since I bought it in 2019.  I wouldn't worry about it (unless Wysong or some more knowledgeable person than me says otherwise).

Driveline/gear backlash or tie up.  Especially if you have a 6 speed truck.  Normal.  I had a 2012, did it from day one new.

TSB on clunks - temp.xml (nhtsa.gov)

Also, don't lubricate the slip yoke with anything but Dexron VI ATF.  The older trucks 1999-2007 they were able to have a light grease applied to the splines but 07+up they changed the transfer case sealing so grease should NOT be used, only ATF.

Is there not a firmware upgrade that resolves it? One would think that if it were related to firmware there would be a fix.

Does it have a split shaft? If so, clean and lube the splines between the front and rear shafts. Keep it clocked to avoid vibration.

When I worked at a Chevy dealer, we would use the GM special lube grease with ptfe, mix a small amount of autotrac oil in the can. Works well.

Thanks for the tip, but no split shaft.
