I recently bought a 2023 suburban with only one key. The auto start/stop worked normally. I went to a Chevy dealer and bought an another key and had them program it. I noticed the start/stop did not work when I drove it home. I kept using the same key and the start/stop did not engage again. I used the other key today and the auto start/stop worked again. I did press the start/stop button to turn it on and off multiple times using the first key. Nothing happened. I am going to contact the dealer but I thought I would ask here if anyone has heard of this before.

Not sure if this helps, but there is a list of items that prevent the auto stop/start from engaging.

To maintain vehicle performance, other conditions may cause the engine to automatically restart before the brake pedal is released.
Auto Stops may not occur and/or Auto Starts may occur because:
. The climate control settings require the engine to be running to cool or heat the vehicle interior.
. The vehicle battery needs to charge.
. The vehicle battery has recently been disconnected.
. Minimum vehicle speed has not been reached since the last Auto Stop.

. The accelerator pedal is pressed.
. The engine or transmission is not at the required operating temperature.
. The outside temperature is not in the required operating range.
. The vehicle is shifted out of D (Drive) to any gear other than P (Park).
. Certain driver modes have been selected.
. The vehicle is on a steep hill or grade.
. The driver door has been opened or the driver seat belt has been unbuckled.
. The hood has been opened.
. The Auto Stop has reached the maximum allowed time.

When mine doesn't engage (if I haven't turned it off) it is usually because outside temp is out of range, eng and /  or trans temps not in range or vehicle interior is too far from set temperature hot / too cold and HVAC needs to be running

I've never heard of it not working if a certain fob is use -- and suspect that's not the cause.
