On Parol live is a show we watch when there’s a gap  between a taped show and a live show we’re waiting on. Much to my surprise in certain parts of the country they actually stop left lane cruising. Especially if they hold up traffic. Yea! The main reason I avoid interstate driving when I can is because of clusters of left lane cruising. People are pissed trying to get around these groups is a pile up waiting to happen. Now if they stop passing on the right and let tractor trailer move back over. Peace will reign. Wishful thinking I know.

I call that cluster the "Hive". Bunch of knuckleheads jockeying for position. I stay in the right lane at or below the limit and let them sort their way around me.

That passing Semi's on the right is....I don't have a word... :(  Not stupid, stupid implies the person consciencely disregards something they know is wrong. They don't give is a thought at all, and yet, are not ignorant of the danger. What is that?

Another I'm fond of is being out there off hours and you haven't seen another car/truck in five minutes and some Semi comes up on you doing 20 over and honks, flashing his lights, as he passes you. Really?

I’m always in the mirror. I try to maintain 72 in a 70. And 77 in a 75. About the only time I’m passing on the interstate are tractor trailers. You’ll see one on the horizon. At the same time you’ll see a line in the left lane that will be on you about the same time you. You think ok I’ll wait let them pass. Suddenly that line slows because further up some knuckle head jumps out. Passing another tractor trailer. They don’t increase their speed to match the left lane drivers. That they’re supposed to do by law. So the according effect is in effect. So now all these idiots are around me pissed off. And we’re all doing 60. Now the tractor trailer driver I’m behind is behind a slower tractor trailer the slow guy passed who is slowing the left lane. That’s why I don’t slow down. So it’s increasingly getting like the Daytona 500. So the back road for me. I’m glad I have that choice.

A driver's license is easy to get, so we deal with the consequences.

A scary story. My second daughter failed her school driving class. She talked her older sister to take her to get her license. She handed her failed driving certificate to the person at the desk they gave her a license. My oldest said but she failed! The answer was but she took it. We bought her a large car and trained her until she went to college at 18. I put a circular driveway in because she would back in the street and hit the mailbox. The mercury had every corner dented. She even caught the bumper on a post backing out of parking spot. She finally became a decent driver after having kids. She turns her phone to silent when she drives.

In Illinois getting one is easy enough but at 75 it gets hard to keep. Only state in the Republic that requires full written and drive testing for all you registered license classes on a much quickened schedule. Full battery ever two years. Current guy is trying to rid us of this or so was the platform he ran on. We'll see.

Be a 75 year oil OTR trucker who likes to ride his Harley on the weekends. Two or three day battery every two years. And yes, I know a few of these types.

I have a grand daughter like that. She hangs on to her license with prayers and duck-tape. They keep allowing it. Her dad is going broke buying her cars and paying the insurance.

Three years ago we were at my 90 year old father in law’s house. He noticed his license was about to expire. I told him to try on line. They renewed. He drove very well until 6 months before he passed at 93.

My dad is 96. Lives in Iowa. Drives very well, Just not very much. He knows his limits and has stated recently that when this one expires he will not renew. He quit his motorcycle stamp in his mid 70's as he felt the skills required to drive on the same roads with others who do not honor life the way he does was no longer within his skill set. He had no trouble making that discission either.

I think a quick interview with an officer, such as one might have when stopped for DWI would be appropriate. Those he felt were shaky, take the battery. He doesn't decide. He just sorts out the obviously deficient. Testing still decides but really? Age based discrimination? LOL.

My son just got his permit a few weeks ago 😬

Indiana has the left lane is for passing only.  State police have and will pull people over slowing the flow of traffic

When I travel 5to7 hours away I add a half hour to my GPS destination. Doesn’t have anything to do with speed. My wife is with me.

It has everything to do with speed on ETA.
