There was a package in the back of the 2023 2500 duramax I just bought. I meant to ask the dealership what it was but forgot about it after test driving, talking and buying.

There's a bag of fuses, a small fuse box, and another wire that's in the bag (pictured below).

Is it for the auxiliary switches or the bed outlet? Not sure. Thank you!

An upfitter kit? I know when I bought 1 of my trucks (pre K2XX) that had the VYU Snow Plow Prep there was a small harness in the glove box, but nothing like that.

I've looked through the owner's manual and I think you're correct. It being the upfitter. I have 5 aux switches on the left side of the lower panel driver side that don't do anything. I found a youtube video where the guy has a similar harness.

Thank you, upfitter was the word I needed.

Aux upfitter switch wiring.  HDs have the switch in the dash already, just needs to be wired up.

What’s the going rate for that to be done typically? I have the same bundle sitting in the garage and as you said, the switch is already in my dash.

3-4 hours last time I checked.  Going to vary from dealer to dealer of course.

Probably like 300 I’m guessing. Okay thanks.

Try 450-600 lol.  Its 145/hr where I am, head towards the city they are over 170/hr now.

There’s a pretty detailed thread on the DIY installation. Someday I will do it with my kit I ordered with the truck.

Holy cow. Thought it was like 90/hr in my area. I’ll have to ask what the hourly rate is here.

I have the all the kit parts as well. The install part that takes the longest is the bank of buttons on the interior kick panel. You need to take the entire dash apart to install those or cut a hole if you are feeling lucky.

I had to go back to the dealer and get the fuses and screws to complete the kit. Fortunately, I have the switches already installed.

There are few threads on this forum that go into details on how to install it. The dealer might but it seems that they don't really want to?

I have a couple of accessories that I am going to install as a start. I am also going to run the 4 hot wires out and into the engine bay so I can attach to them for lighting etc... The 5th one will be a tap for my dash cam.

HDs come with the switch bank and dash panel for the switches pre-installed.  The rest of the kit just has to be installed.

Here's the instructions from GM - UI-Bulletin-153e.pdf

The instructions for enabling power to the aux kit and if adding a snowplow, power for that - UI-Bulletin_147b-Snow-Plow-power-provisions.pdf

On my 2020, that fifth wire terminates near the third brake light.

Just finished wiring up the switches that came installed in my "25" PRO HD. The hardest part was getting the 10 ga. battery wire through the firewall. If you're going to hook up an accessory up front somewhere pull that power wire through at the same time. Also don't forget to pull a small pull string through for future use.
